Description
Product Information
Josephine Baker, the Jazz Age, and African-American performers in 1920s Paris – all were captured in Le Tumulte Noir, Paul Colin’s limited-edition portfolio of 45 lithographs. First published in 1927, Colin’s work evokes the uproar that black Americans created in music and dance in Paris after World War I. This work reproduces, in large colour plates, all of the lithographs, as well as the original preface by Rip (satirist George Thenon) and Josephine Baker’s own hand-written commentary.
