Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsThe search to replace placekicker Cody Parkey continues for the Chicago Bears as they will reportedly work out two kickers from the defunct Alliance of American Football. The Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs writes that the Bears will host Younghoe Koo and Nick Rose on Wednesday at Halas Hall. Koo was a perfect 14 of 14 on field goals with a long on 38 for the Atlanta Legends, while the San Antonio Commanders’ Rose matched Koo’s 14 for 14, but his long was from 54. Both kickers had brief appearances in the NFL with Koo going 3 for 6 on field goals with the Chargers in 2017, and Rose going 11 for 14 during the 2017 seasons with the Redskins and Chargers. The Bears currently have two kickers under contract, Chris Blewitt and Redford Jones, and they’ve been actively scouting kickers for the upcoming NFL Draft. In other roster news Taylor Gabriel Jerseys 2019 , the Bears officially announced that exclusive rights free agent, offensive lineman Rashaad Coward, re-signed today. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chicago Bears are scheduled to work out kicker Nick Folk, who last kicked for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2017. The Bucs put him on injured reserve that season after 4 games with tendinitis in his left knee, which is his plant leg. He ended up having surgery for the ailment White Chase Daniel Jerseys , but was cleared for football activities almost a year ago. Schefter also reported that Folk will be one of several kickers the Bears will work out. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting two of the other kickers are veteran Blair Walsh and Austin MacGinnis. The 34-year old Folk was a Pro Bowler with the Dallas Cowboys as a rookie in 2007. He played in Dallas from ‘07 to 2009, and he was with the New York Jets from 2010 to 2016. He’s a career 80.3%kicker on field goals and 98.8% on extra points. Walsh, a 6th-round draft pick of the Vikings in 2012, was also a Pro Bowler as a rookie. The Vikes released him after nine games of the 2016 season where he was 75% on field goals and just 78.9% on extra points. He kicked for the Seahawks last year and was 72.4% and 97.4% respectively. The 29-year old is a career 82.4% field goal kicker.MacGinnis was in Bears minicamp last year after a stellar career for the Kentucky Wildcats where is the school’s all-time leading scorer.Four Star Sports claims to have a source naming these other kickers getting tryouts with the Bears too, Redford Jones, Ernesto Lacayo Chase Daniel Jerseys 2019 , and Josh Gable. Jones kicked at Tulsa from 2015 to 2017, Lacayo was most recently with the Portland Steel of the AFL in 2016, and Gable is a former pro soccer player with no collegiate placekicking experience, but he did try out with the Colts and Patriots, and has most recently been kicking with the IFL’s Nebraska Danger. The Bears said they’d have competition for incumbent Cody Parkey after his disastrous 2018 season, so we’ll likely get a parade of kickers in the coming months. Also White Allen Robinson Jerseys , the Bears did speak with LSU’s Cole Tracy at the Senior Bowl.

In his final two years of college, Johnson logged 115 tackles Womens Jason Peters Jersey , 12 passes defensed, and four interceptions. The book on Johnson is that he’s an intriguing, raw talent. He’s big for a corner at just a shade over 6-2 and weighing in at 208 pounds.Johnson isn’t the only big corner the Eagles have reportedly brought in for a pre-draft vist. They’ve also invited Penn State’s Amani Oruwariye to Philly. Maybe it’s just a coincidence but maybe it’s that the Eagles are looking to add more size to their secondary. The Draft Network projects Johnson as an early Day 3 pick. The Eagles could look to draft and develop him over time. Cornerback isn’t an immediate need for the Eagles but the team does have to consider the future of the position. Jalen Mills and Ronald Darby are both set to be free agents after this season. Injuries have been a big issue for Sidney Jones. Rasul Douglas has been inconsistent at times while Avonte Maddox doesn’t necessarily have a set spot in the secondary. The secondary is struggling. The offensive line is failing to adequately protect Carson Wentz. And so on.But if history is any indication, it IS too early to panic. Let’s look back at the last 10 Eagles seasons to put the team’s current 2-2 record in context. Last 10 Eagles seasonsSeasonRecord after four gamesFinal recordPost-seasonSeasonRecord after four gamesFinal recordPost-seasonStarting 3-1 is obviously better than starting 2-2, but it hasn’t always been a great indicator of future success. The Eagles failed to make the playoffs in three out of their last four 3-1 starts. Two of those four seasons failed to produce winning records; the Eagles went 7-9 in 2016 and just 4-12 in 2012. Starting out 2-2 Brian Dawkins Jersey , meanwhile, has hardly been a death knell for the Eagles. Here’s a look at how Philadelphia has fared in those situations dating back to the expansion of 16 game seasons in 1978. History of Eagles starting out 2-2SeasonRecord after four gamesFinal recordPost-seasonSeasonRecord after four gamesFinal recordPost-seasonThe Eagles averaged 9.8 wins in their last eight seasons starting out at 2-2. They failed to make the playoffs only once and they made it one game away from the Super Bowl in three of those years. That’s probably a lot more encouraging than you would’ve guessed, right?Of course, just because it’s mostly worked out for the Eagles in the past doesn’t mean it’s going to play out the same way this year. Football Outsiders’ model only gives the Eagles a 41.2% chance to make the playoffs this season. This old chart from FiveThirtyEight shows 2-2 teams generally have a 36% chance of making the post-season. That figure is significantly worse than the 63% of 3-1 teams who make it to January. But while there’s reason to be concerned about the 2018 Eagles, there’s also room for optimism. Wentz is healthy and is coming off one of the best games of his career. The Eagles still have six games at Lincoln Financial Field this year http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-sidney-jones-jersey , which is significant since they have the best home record in the NFL from the beginning of the 2016 season (17-3).So, it’s like I said earlier. No need to totally freak out just yet.

JACKSONVILLE Jalen Ramsey Jerseys 2019 , Fla. (AP) — Marqise Lee, who led the team in receptions in 2017, injured his left knee in a 17-6 victory against Atlanta in the preseason Saturday night and could be out for the year.Lee was carted off the field in the first quarter after Falcons cornerback Damontae Kazee went helmet-first into his knee and then twisted his leg. Lee fumbled on the play, but it was overturned because Kazee was flagged for leading with his helmet.Coach Doug Marrone said “obviously it looked bad,” adding that Lee will have tests Sunday to determine the extent of the injury. Teammates sounded resigned to Lee being sidelined an extended period, maybe even the entire season.“That’s tough,” Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles said. “You hate to see anytime, especially in the preseason, and to a guy like that who’s been through what he’s been through and plays with the passion that he does, and everything that he’s put into this team and getting ready for this season. … It’s tough to see.”Lee was clearly in pain as he got helped onto the cart. Teammates and coaches walked across the field to offer well-wishes as he left the field. It was the kind of preseason injury that leaves everyone on both sidelines shaking their heads.“At the end of the day Black Telvin Smith Jerseys , we’ve got to come together as a team, as a unit and pick up where he left off,” fellow receiver Dede Westbrook said.“Everybody’s got to step up,” Jaguars receiver Donte Moncrief added. “Everybody in the room’s got to be ready to go, from the young guys to me. He was one of the big roles in the offense.”Lee had 56 catches for 702 yards and three touchdowns last season. He signed a four-year, $34 million contract in March that included $16.5 million guaranteed.A second-round draft pick from USC in 2014, Lee has 171 catches for 2,166 yards and eight touchdowns. He missed games because of various injuries in three of his four seasons. If Lee misses time this fall, the Jaguars would rely on second-year pros Keelan Cole and Westbrook, one-year rental Moncrief and rookie DJ Chark.WINLESS FALCONSAtlanta managed 96 yards in the first half and 261 for the game. The Falcons have lost all three preseason games.Matt Ryan completed 5 of 12 passes for 57 yards. Tevin Coleman ran seven times for 38 yards Telvin Smith Jerseys 2019 , with 22 of those coming on one scamper.“When you’re going against a good defense, that’s how the game is going to shake out,” Ryan said. “You’re going to have your opportunities at times to make plays. I don’t think we came away with all of them, but we certainly made some good ones as well.”The bright spots for Atlanta were two interceptions against Blake Bortles, who played into the third quarter and finished 17 of 23 for 204 yards. Bortles was picked once on a tipped ball and another on a pass that sailed wide of a receiver.ANTHEM PROTESTJaguars All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey and Pro Bowl linebacker Telvin Smith remained in the locker room during the national anthem. Smith has skipped the anthem in each of the team’s three preseason games. Ramsey was suspended for last week’s exhibition at Minnesota, not for anything related to the anthem.PRESEASON DEBUTFalcons placekicker Matt Bryant made his preseason debut after sitting out the first two games with an undisclosed injury. The 43-year-old Bryant drilled a 47-yard field goal to cap the opening drive and later added a 33-yarder.The Jaguars had two players make their preseason debut. 2017 All-Pro guard Andrew Norwell (calf) and defensive lineman Taven Bryan (abdomen), a first-round pick from Florida, missed the first two exhibitions. Bryan’s best play was batting down a pass in the closing minutes.SITTING OUTReceiver Marvin Hall, guard Ben Garland, cornerback Desmond Trufant Youth Taven Bryan Jerseys , safety Ricardo Allen and linebacker Deion Jones sat out for Atlanta with minor injuries. The Jaguars were without six players: cornerback A.J. Bouye (illness), center Brandon Linder (knee), safety Ronnie Harrison (hamstring), linebacker Donald Payne (hip), defensive tackle Eli Ankou (knee) and defensive end Dawuane Smoot (foot).UP NEXTAtlanta hosts Miami to end the preseason Thursday.Jacksonville plays at Tampa Bay on Thursday.Telvin Smith says loss to Titans is on the defense The Jacksonville Jaguars defense allowed a total of 83 passing yards, nine points, and were on the field nearly six minutes longer than the offense — but linebacker Telvin Smith is going to shoulder the blame for a loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 3 and there’s no way to convince him otherwise.Speaking with reporters after the game, Telvin wasn’t going to deflect any responsibility for the 9-6 loss. It’s on the defense to keep the other team from scoring more points than the offense. Period.I respect the personal accountability and not wanting to throw anyone under the bus, Telvin — but a touchdown at any point after the first quarter seals an ugly win for the Jaguars and gets y’all to 3-0 and two games up in the AFC South. What do you think though? Should the defense be to blame just like the offense? Let us know in the comments below!

NFL NewsLos Angeles Chargers NewsChargers safety Derwin James snubbed for Defensive Rookie of the YearNew,11commentsPSTThe best defensive rookie in the National Football League this year, Los Angeles Chargers defensive back Derwin James, did not win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award. That honor has, instead, gone to the Indianapolis Colts’ linebacker Darius Leonard. That travesty was announced via Twitter:Leonard had the benefit of playing a position that generates more counting stats that are recognizable to the kind of people that don’t actually pay close attention to the games being played. Derwin James was an elite player at multiple roles for the Chargers defense. James excelled at both safety spots Desmond King Jerseys Stitched , was able to line up as a linebacker, and was also one of the most efficient pass rushers in the NFL. It is not a huge surprise that as a defensive back he was snubbed for this award in favor of a linebacker, but it is still a joke that it happened.James will have to content himself with all of the other honors he has already received this offseason, and perhaps he will find additional motivation from being passed over for another that he deserved. We are officially 17 days away from opening night of the 2019 NFL Draft and the speculation surrounding each team’s motives are only going to get murkier and murkier with each new "source" or rumor..."We are officially 17 days away from opening night of the 2019 NFL Draft and the speculation surrounding each team’s motives are only going to get murkier and murkier with each new “source” or rumor that comes to light.Until the picks are finally etched in stone, everything is up in the air, especially on day 3 when each pick isn’t much better than throwing a dart at the wall. However, as Chargers fans have come to realize over the last few seasons, the team’s selections on day 3 have become essential parts in the team’s recent success. Guys like running back Justin Jackson and defensive end Isaac Rochell were both selected in the seventh round over the last two seasons. Each has a start under their belt and were key contributors in 2018. After watching Coach Lynn talk the talk when it comes to “playing the best guy”, it’s not out of the blue to think the team’s day 3 picks could be contributors sooner rather than later. With this mind Youth Casey Hayward Jerseys , I’m starting off this short series leading up to the draft with four selections in the seventh round that the Chargers should consider drafting. By April 25th, I will go round by round and throw out four names that I believe should be the team’s biggest priorities on each day of the draft, all the way up through the first. That being said, here are the first four guys that I believe will not only be available in the seventh, but also fit what the Chargers want to do on either side of the ball.DT Cortez Broughton - CincinnatiAfter three underwhelming years for the Bearcats where Broughton only accounted for 3.5 sacks, he broke out in a big during his senior season to the tune of 7.5 sacks and 18.5 tackles-for-loss. He was rightfully named a First Team All-AAC selection alongside DT Ed Oliver, a potential top-5 pick in the draft.Broughton shows a first-step quickness that can be so eye-popping at times that it makes you wonder how you haven’t been hearing more about this guy until now. He is only listed at 6-foot-2 and 290-ish pounds but he can certainly play larger than those numbers. In the video above where Broughton bull-rushes the UCLA guard into the QB’s lap, you can see how overwhelming he can be when he gets the jump on an unsuspecting linemen. In contrast to his peaks as a pass-rusher, there are times where Broughton struggles to finish sacks that are so bad it makes you think he;s undraftable Casey Hayward Jerseys Stitched , like this example from The Draft Network’s Ben Solak:Day 3 guys are going to come with some major bumps and bruises in their game, but it’s all about balancing the potential upside with fit and Broughton fits into the Bolts’ mold of a pentrating 3-technique that only needs to worry about winning his gap and getting into the quarterback’s face.CB Derrek Thomas - BaylorIf there is one thing that we can agree on when it comes to Gus Bradley when it comes to his cornerbacks, it’s that he likes them long and tall.If you look at the original members of Seattle’s vaunted Legion of Boom, cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner were 6’3 and 6’4, respectively while safety Kam Chancellor was also 6’3. The shortest member was safety Earl Thomas at 5’11 but he’s Earl flippin’ Thomas so of course he’s in it.Ever since Bradley got hired as the team’s defensive coordinator, he has yet to draft an outside cornerback, but the undrafted free agents they’ve brought in definitely fit that mold. Michael Davis, Brandon Facyson, and Jeff Richards are all listed at 6’2. How tall do you guys think Thomas? He’s 6’3 Youth Brandon Mebane Jerseys , according to his draft profile, and showed off some awesome explosiveness at the NFL combine when he jumped 39.5 in the vertical and 10’11 in the broad.Thomas has only been a cornerback for three seasons, having switched from wide receiver before the 2016 season while he was still at Temple. He didn’t rack up a ton of picks but it’s hard to pass-up his physical traits at such a low price. The Chargers seem to always bring in a cornerback or two when they collect their UDFAs and Thomas may just be in that group if he isn’t taken on day 3.LB Ty Summers - TCUA guy I hadn’t heard of much until recently, Summers is one of the twitchiest linebackers in the class who tested extremely well across his pro day and the NFL combine. At 240 pounds, his 4.51 forty is extremely impressive when paired with his excellent explosion and agility numbers listed in the graphic below. His play strength is a common “plus” among his traits so the 27 reps on bench press, ranking 3rd among the position in Indy, is also no surprise. There aren’t really any thresholds to look at when it comes to predicting who the Chargers may draft when it comes to linebackers, but we know they like them xcrazy-athletic and versatile.Jatavis Brown and Kyzir White both fit this mold and I believe Summers numbers speak for themselves. The speed of Summers shows up in coverage and when he is tasked with blitzing but it’s his instincts that are getting dinged the most in the pre-draft process. Here’s what NFL analyst Lance Zierlein has to say about Summers:But again, it’s the seventh round Brandon Mebane Jerseys Stitched , and I’ll take Summers’ physical traits every day with the 244th pick.QB Jordan Ta’amu - Ole MissI mentioned Ta’amu before in one of my previous mock drafts and I’m sticking by him in this piece, as well.Ta’amu was the luckiest quarterback in college football this past season. He not only threw to one, but two receivers that will likely go in the first round this year and a third that should get heavy consideration early on day 3.Ta’amu played in a shotgun-heavy vertical passing scheme that bodes well for a smoother transition were he to get drafted by the Chargers. The Bolts were one of the best teams when it came to explosive passing plays (25+ yards) in the NFL last season and that shouldn’t change, even with speedster Tyrell Williams now with the Raiders. The former Rebel quarterback wasn’t terribly prolific in school, throwing for just under 4,000 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2018. His mobility is a plus for me as he also ran for 342 yards and another six touchdowns on the ground. The most scathing marks on Ta’amu’s resume are going to be the fact that his offense ran maybe two dozens plays all year and his lack of productivity with such an explosive offense around him. His peaks throughout the season were admirable but his low-points against Alabama and LSU were really quite awful.Alas, I cannot help but imagine what Ta’amu could do in the Chargers offense, given his propensity for the long-ball and Lynn’s undying preference for a quarterback with some wiggle.

Once Leonard Fournette and the Jacksonville Jaguars lost their cool Youth Chris Conley Jerseys , Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills took over.on a 14-yard run in the fourth quarter, and Buffalo beat Jacksonville 24-21 on Sunday in a game marred by a fight that led to the ejections of Fournette and Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson.Fournette put the loss on himself.“I take full responsibility for that,” he said. “We lost the game. We should’ve won this game hands down.”They might have with the way Fournette was running. He scored twice and had 95 yards rushing before he was thrown out in the third quarter.“I have to be a professional. I mean, you can’t have that,” he said.Allen scored on the first snap of the fourth and also threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Robert Foster in the opening quarter in his return to the lineup after missing four games with a sprained right throwing elbow. Buffalo (4-7) came off its bye week to win consecutive games for the first time this season. The Jaguars (3-8) dropped their seventh consecutive game in their longest losing streak since a nine-game slide in 2016, which led directly to Gus Bradley being replaced by current coach Doug Marrone. The bad blood between two teams who met in last season’s AFC wild-card game boiled over with 2:57 left in the third quarter.Jaguars receiver Donte Moncrief had what was initially ruled a 30-yard TD reception at the left pylon. He was on the ground battling for control of the ball with Levi Wallace when a Jaguars player struck Bills safety Micah Hyde from behind.Players then began shoving each other, with Lawson going after Jaguars running back Carlos Hyde. That’s when Fournette ran across the field to target Lawson. They exchanged punches in the left corner of the end zone on the Bills side of the field before eventually being separated.“I don’t know, maybe you call it frustration on their part, I’m not sure,” Micah Hyde said Chris Conley Jerseys Stitched , not realizing Fournette left his own sideline to get involved.“At that time, it was 14-14. No reason for anything on their part especially someone running on to the field when they were on the bench,” he said.Even Bills coach Sean McDermott had blood smeared on his hooded sweatshirt.“You know what, part of it’s mine, and part of it’s a little bit from the scrum right there. We’ll take it,” McDermott said. “I was glad that the players supported one another.”The game went south for Jacksonville after that.A review negated the touchdown, ruling Moncrief was down at the 1. Carlos Hyde lost a yard on first-and-goal, and then tight end James O’Shaughnessy was flagged for a false start.Dede Westbrook had a touchdown catch nullified by an offensive holding penalty on fellow receiver Keelan Cole. After Kyle Williams sacked Blake Bortles for an 8-yard loss, Lambo missed a 42-yard attempt wide left.Buffalo took over and needed three plays — and two personal fouls against Jacksonville — to put together a 68-yard drive that ended with Allen’s run.“I won’t say an empty feeling. I don’t know how to describe it,” Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey said. “It (stinks) losing over and over and over again.”Lack of discipline Marqise Lee Jerseys Stitched , injuries and turnovers have combined to scuttle the Jaguars, who were coming off a 20-16 loss to Pittsburgh in which they squandered a 16-0 third-quarter lead.“Wins, losses, penalties, things like that, they all reflect on me,” Marrone said. “So I guess if you want me to say I have to do a better job, then I do. I just wish I could stop it before it starts.”TUNNEL CONFRONTATIONAs Fournette and Lawson were escorted off their respective sidelines, they met once again just before entering the tunnel. Lawson had to be held back by a Bills official while Fournette was asked to wait — he was then struck in the left shoulder by a fan, who had reached out from the stands. Fournette also said he was doused with beer.QUARTERBACKSJaguars: Bortles finished 12 of 23 for 127 yards Youth Cedric Ogbuehi Jerseys , including a 13-yard touchdown to Westbrook with 1:20 remaining. He also threw two interceptions, the second one setting up Stephen Hauschka‘s 22-yard field goal that put Buffalo up 24-14 with 3:06 left.Bills: Allen finished 8 of 19 for 160 yards and also had a team-high 99 yards rushing. His touchdown pass to Foster was the longest completion for the Bills since Tyrod Taylor hit Marquise Goodwin for an 84-yard TD in Buffalo’s 2016 home-opening loss to the New York Jets.TRASH TALKINGRamsey raised eyebrows in August when he referred to Allen as “trash” in an interview with GQ magazine . Ramsey was beaten by Allen on a 32-yard reception by Kelvin Benjamin on Buffalo’s first touchdown drive. Ramsey was also penalized for a facemask while tackling Benjamin.Moments after he had an interception negated by an illegal contact penalty, Ramsey was spotted yelling “You trash, you trash!” toward the Bills sideline. The exchange took place with three seconds left in the first half.UP NEXTJaguars: Host Colts next Sunday, three weeks after a 29-26 loss at Indianapolis.Bills: Close with four of five against AFC East rivals starting with a visit to Miami next weekend. ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Tom Coughlin had one complaint about his first season back with the Jacksonville Jaguars: Watching games from the press box.“The window in front of me got messed up a few times,” Coughlin said Tuesday at the NFL Meetings. The 71-year-old former coach turned fiery executive might need to find a new seat, especially given the ultrahigh expectations that will follow Jacksonville into the season. After making the AFC championship game in January — and leading New England by 10 points in the fourth quarter before losing 24-20 — the Jaguars will be a popular pick to win their division and make another run to the Super Bowl.More Jacksonville Jaguars newsJaguars expect DE Yannick Ngakoue’s holdout to be short-livedJaguars rookie safety Zedrick Woods submits retirement paperworkJalen Ramsey says Jaguars don’t plan to give him contract extension this seasonJaguars sign former UCF running back Taj McGowan for added depthJaguars QB Nick Foles to miss OTAs for undisclosed ‘personal reason’“Non-negotiable expectations from within,” Coughlin said. “That’s how we look at it. Our expectations are very high and anybody that comes on board has to understand there’s a way to accomplish what we’re trying to accomplish. It’s through team, it’s through individual improvement and it’s through a relentless drive through team success.”It was the same way during Coughlin’s first stint in Jacksonville. Coughlin essentially built the franchise from the ground up in 1995. He was the head coach and the one voice that made every decision — from who threw the passes to who ran the calculator for the salary cap to what color paint was on the walls.Anyone who believes he’s a figurehead in his return would be mistaken. He even had his hand in the Jaguars new uniforms. The team spent part of last year designing new uniforms. The revamped ones will be unveiled April 19 at the team’s annual state of the franchise address. Most notably Cedric Ogbuehi Jerseys Stitched , the Jags are adding more teal to the jerseys and eliminating the two-tone helmets that had become as much a reason for ridicule in recent years as the team’s woeful record. The first version of the helmet was matte black.Coughlin vetoed that color, instead opting for an old-school, shiny-black look.“It was just a feeling of who we are, what we represent,” Coughlin said. “That’s a very good look. It’s a solid look. As I said at one point in time, we have some guys that will be in the Hall of Fame and the connection will be very similar as we go forward. We just wanted a little bolder statement, and I think we got it.”The Jaguars made a statement on the field in 2017. They won the AFC South for the first time in franchise history and earned a postseason berth for the first time in a decade. The success coincided with Coughlin’s return, but it was far from a coincidence.Team owner Shad Khan credited the two-time Super Bowl-winning coach with bringing some much-needed leadership to a franchise that had won 17 of 80 games across the five seasons before his return.“And with that comes a sense of values and a sense of expectations and ability to deliver results,” Khan said.Even though Coughlin has final say over all football decisions, his role alongside coach Doug Marrone and general manager Dave Caldwell has evolved.“I was basically on the practice field for every practice and I was in the Saturday night meetings Youth Landry Jones Jerseys ,” Coughlin said. “I did everything just like I normally would do (as the coach). I prepared just as if I was in that spot, the coaching spot, and I would do some things. Like Doug might ask me to look at something and prepare a tape for him to look at, and I would do that. I enjoy all of that.”Winning surely helps, even in the press box. Now, the Jaguars will try to build on their success amid external expectations that haven’t been part of the franchise in a decade and haven’t been an annual occurrence since Coughlin’s heyday.“Expectations are the easy part,” Khan said. “Delivering, that’s the hard part. I think what’s fun going forward is it’s expectations, but then a high degree of confidence that we’re going to deliver.”131<button class="view-gallery">View Gallery</button> Gallery:Jacksonville Jaguars cheerleadersReinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports | Reinhold Matay

BUFFALO Marquise Brown Jersey , N.Y. (AP) —  referring to him as being a happy-go-lucky person because the Buffalo Bills quarterback wondered if it implied he doesn’t take his job seriously. At the same time, Allen was taken aback Wednesday in deflecting the suggestion he still has plenty to prove entering his second NFL season.“OK? Yeah, absolutely, the team does,” he said, following the second of Buffalo’s three mandatory minicamp practices.Allen wouldn’t budge when pressed further if that included him, by saying: “All right, like I said, we move as a team, and we’re going to try to have to have that same mindset.”This is the same person who a few weeks ago said, “I just want to play football and win football games,” when asked how much pressure he bore to fill what’s been an unsettled position in Buffalo since Hall of Famer Jim Kelly retired 22 years ago.Don’t let Allen’s aw-shucks, who-me, off-field approach fool you.The just-turned 23-year-old who proudly chugged a can of beer at teammate Micah Hyde’s recent charity softball tournament, is no different from the player who paused to trash-talk Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey on the way to celebrating a touchdown during a 24-21 win last season. What matters to Allen is he doesn’t want anyone to see him sweat.“Time will come where frustrations happen. That’s the game of football,” he told The Associated Press.“When adversity hits http://www.ravensfootballauthentics.com/jaylon-ferguson-jersey-authentic , you’ve got to persevere and overcome. A big saying in my family household growing up was ‘APO’. Adjust, persevere, overcome,” Allen added. “That was from my high school coach. My dad loved it and he says it every day.”Allen has persevered through plenty following a college career in which he was initially overlooked by FBS schools and made the jump from California’s Reedley junior college to Wyoming before being selected by Buffalo with the seventh pick in the draft last year.Having assumed the No. 1 job much earlier than expected following Nathan Peterman’s meltdown in Buffalo’s opener, Allen is tasked with having to build off an inconsistent season.Allen finished with a 5-6 record, in which he went 3-3 down the stretch after missing four games with a sprained right throwing elbow. He showed off his athletic ability by hurdling Minnesota linebacker Anthony Barr in a 27-6 win in Week 3, and followed that with a two-interception outing and a 36.3 quarterback rating in a 22-0 loss at Green Bay.In going 169 of 320 passes for 2,074 yards with 10 TDs and 12 interceptions in 12 games, Allen ranked 32nd in completion percentage, yards passing, touchdowns and touchdowns versus interceptions ratio. Not all the inconsistencies were on Allen, who oversaw an offense featuring a patchwork line and no-name receivers led by Zay Jones and undrafted rookie Robert Foster. He won’t have the same issues this year after the Bills overhauled their offense in free agency by adding receivers Cole Beasley and John Brown, and retooled their line with seven newcomers, led by center Mitch Morse.Another advantage is having an entire offseason to prepare after Allen spent most of last spring and summer working as a third-stringer behind Peterman and AJ McCarron. And he is expected to have a better grasp of the playbook and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll’s philosophies.“He’s grown mentally and physically off the field and on the field as a leader,” said Daboll, noting he’s had Allen call his own plays this spring. “We’re doing a lot of different things right now just to throw on his plate and see what we need to keep getting better and Miles Boykin Jersey , and see what he’s got a firm grasp of.”Coach Sean McDermott is encouraged by what he’s seen.“Josh is a young man that is driven and very in-tune and very self-aware to his development as a young man and as a football player and how important that is to our organization,” McDermott said. “I’ve seen that through the habits that he’s undertaken since he left here in January, and then when we got him back, and what he’s done since that time.”In March, Allen invited Bills receivers to work out with him in California. Allen also made a point to greet each of Buffalo’s free-agent additions .That doesn’t mean Allen is anywhere close to being a finished product.A practice highlight Wednesday, featured Allen avoiding the pass rush by rolling to his left and, with a flick of his wrist, lofting a pass to Andre Roberts, who made a leaping catch in double coverage for what would’ve been a 30-yard touchdown. The lowlight followed a few plays later, when Allen rolled to his left and telegraphed a pass easily intercepted by Jordan Poyer.Allen focused on the positive, saying he always looks for the bright side.“I can always find something to be happy about, something to look at and try to improve instead of pouting about it and putting my head down,” he said.“I had a bad throw today and I slapped myself on the helmet and after a brief second, I was, ‘OK, people are looking at me Deandre Baker Jersey , I’ve got to get back on track,'” Allen added. “I’ve got to have positive body language, positive talk, and that’s how I keep going.”That doesn’t make him any less driven.“If you want to say happy-go-lucky, that’s OK with me,” Allen said. “But it’s just a positive outlook on life. It’s a positive outlook on our season. I’m really looking forward to what we can do this year.” NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (12-6)OPEN CAMP: July 26, Ochsner Sports Performance Center, Metairie, LouisianaLAST YEAR: Helped by infusion of elite young talent, Saints pulled out of three-year rut of mediocrity and won NFC South. They were seconds away from advancing to NFC title game, only to be thwarted by Minnesota receiver Stefon Diggs‘ winning touchdown as time expired in divisional round. New Orleans received major contributions from running back and Offensive Rookie of Year Alvin Kamara, and cornerback and Defensive Rookie of Year Marshon Lattimore. Several other first-and second-year players filled regular roles as well, and veteran Drew Brees remained one of NFL’s top QBs.IMPORTANT ADDITIONS: LB Demario Davis, S Kurt Coleman, CB Patrick Robinson, WR Cameron Meredith http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-oshane-ximines-jersey , Rookie DE Marcus Davenport.IMPORTANT LOSSES: S Kenny Vaccaro, TE Coby Fleener, WR Willie Snead, G Senio Kelemete, RT Zach Strief, CB Delvin Breaux.CAMP NEEDS: Lineup is relatively stable from last-season’s playoff run, but New Orleans looking to bolster pass rush by finding someone who can make offenses pay for sending multiple blockers at All-Pro end Cameron Jordan. Saints want Davenport to develop into that player. But he is raw in first season out of UTSA. Saints also want to figure out which running backs can fill in for Mark Ingram during his four-game suspension to open season. Veteran free agents Shane Vereen and Terrence West, along with draft pick Boston Scott and second-year pro Trey Edmunds, are competing for those snaps.EXPECTATIONS: Saints appear to have gotten stronger and deeper than last season, particularly with additions on defense. Keys to improving are how well new players fit and, as usual, avoiding injuries. If Davenport develops quickly, Saints could be elite. If not, teams with good plan to block Jordan could give New Orleans fits.—AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFL

KANSAS CITY http://www.oaklandraidersteamonline.com/josh-jacobs-jersey , Mo. (AP) —of inciting controversy during the NFL draft in the Andy Reid era by acquiring players that have a history of off-the-field issues. This year, they didn’t even wait until the draft. The Chiefs swung a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday to acquire pass rusher Frank Clark for a package of picks, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. The two sides then reached an agreement on a $105.5 million, five-year contract that was contingent on Clark passing a physical, which was expected to be completed Wednesday. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the deal, which sent the Chiefs’ first-round pick this year and a second-rounder next year to Seattle, had not become official. That didn’t stop fans, talk-radio hosts and people from just about every walk of life in Kansas City from debating the merits of bringing in yet another player with baggage. The team took a chance on cornerback Marcus Peters, who was traded away after getting into trouble with coaches. It drafted running back Kareem Hunt, then quickly cut him when he kicked a woman in a hotel hallway. And it picked wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who was dealing with his own domestic violence case that centered on the 3-year-old child he shares with his fiance. While Clark has stayed out of trouble during four years in the NFL, he was kicked off the team at Michigan when he was charged with first-degree domestic violence and assault following an incident with his then-girlfriend. The charges were later reduced to fourth-degree persistent disorderly conduct and Clark completed a domestic violence course and paid court costs and fines. One organization that called the trade “disconcerting” was the Rose Brooks Center, which has been providing a safe haven for victims of domestic violence for 40 years.“Organizations and other systems have a community responsibility to hold offenders accountable, just as Rose Brooks Center does, in order to end the epidemic of domestic violence,” the center said in a statement. “When we do not hold offenders accountable, it sends a message of acceptance not only to the offender, but to the victim, reducing the likelihood that a victim will come forward.”The Chiefs have not commented on the trade because it has yet to become official, though the team did tweet video from the locker room of a No. 55 jersey with Clark’s name on it.His arrival continues a trend of the Chiefs giving players with off-the-field history a second chance Ben Banogu Jersey , with mixed results.Peters, who was kicked off his team at Washington for fighting with his coach, quickly became one of the league’ best cornerbacks. But increasingly erratic conduct reached a tipping point when Peters got into an altercation with then-defensive coordinator Bob Sutton following a game.Peters ultimately was shipped to the Rams last offseason for second- and fourth-round draft picks. In 2016, the Chiefs used a fifth-round pick on Hill, who was kicked off the team at Oklahoma State after punching his pregnant girlfriend and transferred to tiny West Alabama. His elite speed and game-breaking ability made him one of the league’s biggest stars on the field, but off the field many fans were dismayed at the pick — some even gave up season tickets or swore off the team altogether.Hill completed a series of steps to have the original domestic violence charges expunged, and he had stayed out of trouble until last month when police were called to his home twice in a span of nine days to investigate a report of child abuse and battery of a juvenile. On Wednesday, the Johnson County district attorney declined to press charges in the case because he could not determine whether it was Hill or his fiance, Crystal Espinal, that injured the child.“We believe a crime has occurred ,” district attorney Steve Howe said. “We’ve asked the police to do quite a bit of follow-up work. They’ve completed their investigation and we’re at an impasse at this point and any further investigation would be unwarranted.”The Chiefs have declined to discuss Hill even as they began offseason workouts, and coach Andy Reid merely said “he is here” when asked about his talented wide receiver last week.General manager Brett Veach also declined to discuss the case.“I think it’s going to work itself out here,” he said, “and we’ll deal with the information as it comes. Like I said, there’s nothing I’d probably be in a position to say right now on that.”The Chiefs have been quick in addressing domestic violence in at least one case. After choosing Hunt despite a history of issues in college, and watching him lead the league in rushing as a rookie, they wasted no time in cutting him once video surfaced of an incident in an Ohio hotel hallway. Hunt was seen pushing and kicking a woman while she was on the ground.“Our scouting staff does a really good job of vetting players and part of that analysis is their character,” Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said at the time. “Obviously, it’s very hard to learn everything about somebody. Sometimes you have somebody who in college didn’t have any incidents, then they get to the pro level and with the fame and fortune that comes with the position Parris Campbell Jersey , they do something you don’t expect. We’re certainly going to try to get better, but I don’t think you can ever be perfect.”It’s unclear what kind of due diligence the Chiefs did when it came to Clark, though two people familiar with his signing said the background work done was extensive. What they heard was enough to make the Chiefs comfortable not only with bringing him aboard, but also making Clark one of the highest-paid pass rushers in the NFL. The NFL wants Congress to enact a framework for legalized sports betting in the wake of a Supreme Court ruling that clears the way for more states to allow sports gambling.Supreme Court justices voted 6-3 on Monday to strike down a 1992 law that barred most state-authorized sports gambling. Before the Supreme Court ruling, Nevada was the only state that allowed people to bet on the results of a single game.“Congress has long-recognized the potential harms posed by sports betting to the integrity of sporting contests and the public confidence in these events,” the NFL said in a statement. “Given that history, we intend to call on Congress again, this time to enact a core regulatory framework for legalized sports betting.”All the major leagues responded to a ruling that figures to have far-reaching implications throughout the sports world. The NHL noted that “today paves the way to an entirely different landscape – one in which we have not previously operated.”NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, a supporter of legalizing sports gambling, said his league would “remain active in ongoing discussions with state legislatures” about expanding wagering options.Silver also said the league would like to see a federal framework instead of a state-by-state system. The NBA once opposed expanded sports betting but has long said it supports robust regulation. The NBA and Major League Baseball have argued in recent months for a 1 percent cut of proceeds if legalized sports betting expands across the country, saying part of that money would be needed for additional compliance and enforcement efforts within the game.“As each state considers whether to allow sports betting, we will continue to seek the proper protections for our sport, in partnership with other professional sports,” Major League Baseball said in a statement.Keith Whyte, the National Council on Problem Gambling’s executive director, believes any governmental body and sports league that receives a direct percentage or portion of sports betting revenue must also dedicate funds to prevent and treat gambling problems.“Some of that 1 percent of betting fees is going to come from people with uncontrollable gambling problems,” Whyte said. “We believe by taking a cut of this money, (the leagues would be) put themselves in the position of having to do something to reduce those costs. Great profits come with great responsibility.”MLB said it would “continue to support legislation that creates air-tight coordination and partnerships between the state, the casino operators and the governing bodies in sports” toward protecting the integrity of the game.Plenty of leagues already have taken steps to make sure its players are educated on the issue. For example, last year the PGA Tour hired Genesis Sports to help with its new “Integrity Program” that began at the start of the year. The program requires players on all six circuits the PGA Tour manages to take part in an online tutorial that Bobby Okereke Jersey , among other things, illustrates some of the far-reaching effects of gambling.“We believe that regulation is the most effective way of ensuring integrity in competition, protecting consumers, engaging fans and generating revenue for government, operators and leagues,” the PGA Tour said in a statement. The Supreme Court ruling will impact college sports as well as the pro leagues. Donald Remy, the NCAA’s chief legal officer, said the organization is reviewing the Supreme Court’s decision and that “we will adjust sports wagering and championship policies to align with the direction from the court.”The NCAA currently doesn’t hold NCAA Tournament games or any other NCAA-run events in Nevada because gambling’s legal in that state. Las Vegas is home to the annual Las Vegas Bowl as well as the Pac-12 men’s basketball tournament and other tournaments, which aren’t run by the NCAA itself. The NCAA said that 24 percent of NCAA male student-athletes and about 5 percent of female student-athletes in 2016 reported that they had wagered on sports for money within the previous year , which would violate NCAA bylaws. Just below 2 percent of the men participating in the 2016 survey met what the NCAA termed as standard diagnostic criteria for problem gambling.Reactions to the Supreme Court ruling across the sports world weren’t limited to the league offices. The athletes themselves also were wondering about the possible implications of increased legal sports gambling.NASCAR driver Brad Keselowki tweeted that he was “torn” on the Supreme Court’s decision. Keselowski said that it “should be great for our sport, but I’ve also seen gambling ruin lives.”“If you choose to gamble on me or anyone else, please be responsible, and if you need help, get help,” Keselowski added.——AP golf writer Doug Ferguson, AP basketball writer Tim Reynolds and AP college football writer Ralph D. Super Bowl . . . and after the Super Bowl. Both the running back and the Rams have insisted all along that Gurley rested his knee the final two games because of inflammation and ruled him 100 percent for the postseason. He did not appear on the injury report before the NFC Championship Game or the Super Bowl. Yet Dwayne Haskins Jersey , Gurley had only 16 touches for 47 yards and one touchdown in those two games combined.C.J. Anderson, signed to fill in for Gurley before Week 16, was asked on Undisputed on Tuesday how hurt Gurley really was when Anderson arrived in Los Angeles.“He was more hurt than what we thought,” Anderson said, via . “The injury was a little bit more than what everybody in the building thought D.K. Metcalf Jersey , including himself.”Anderson said he thought Gurley had a sprained knee.“Yeah, he’d never really tell me,” Anderson said. “It was tough. I would say sprained knee. Obviously, it’s the same knee injury he’s had before in his career. Obviously, I had surgery on my meniscus and once you have a knee [injury] http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/authentic-cody-barton-jersey , you always have a knee [injury]. So it aggravates, and if he was getting a lot of touches earlier in the year — obviously him being one of the best backs, that probably was the case.” During a conference call on Wednesday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was asked about how his team is different from the one that lost to the Patriots 43-40 in Week Six.Reid said that young players are more experienced, but that he otherwise “couldn’t even tell you.” One thing he could have mentioned was the difference in the backfield.Kareem Hunt was still on the Chiefs in Week Six and is no longer on the team’s roster Gary Jennings Jr. Jersey , which opened a door for Damien Williams to run through. Williams has done just that over the last couple of months. He had 47 carries for 255 yards, 20 catches for 142 yards and six touchdowns in the final five weeks of the regular season and added 154 total yards and a touchdown against the Colts last week.“Yeah, we started doing it kind of by committee and then Damien worked in there, Damien Williams,” Reid said. “I think he’s done a nice job. We still spot other guys in there. They all play. But I think he’s really stepped up and those are big shoes to fill and I think he’s done a nice job with it.”Williams also came up during Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s press conference. A question about Williams noted that he visited the Patriots as a restricted free agent in 2017 before they opted to sign Mike Gillislee.“He’s a good football player http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/authentic-phil-haynes-jersey ,” Belichick said. “Smart, versatile, can do a lot of different things. Run the ball, catch, pass protect. We had a good visit with him. He was a good guy to bring in to visit and get to know. Things didn’t really work out at that time but I’m not surprised to see him doing well at all.”Belichick would prefer not to see Williams do well this Sunday as keeping him from continuing his strong run would boost hopes of another Super Bowl trip for New England.

The Chicago Bears are .500 for the first time in White Allen Robinson Jerseys , well, a long time. After defeating the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night, the Bears will once again hit the road. In what is basically a 9th home game for the Bears, due to the massive contingent of Chicagoans in the Phoenix area, the Bears will invade University of Phoenix Stadium...err State Farm Stadium to take on the Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. Who are the Cardinals? Well, they are bad. Just how bad? They have been outscored 58-6 in their two games so far in the 2018 season. Yikes, that’s next level bad. It isn’t often that the Bears are favored in a game, much less one on the road, and even less probable when you consider they are favored by 6.5 points! Needless to say Allen Robinson Jerseys 2019 , the Bears have an advantage at virtually ever position on the field come Sunday, but they shouldn’t overlook this team. What to Watch ForOn offense, it will be all about Mitch...Trubisky that is. There were some poor throws and decisions last week, but overall, I thought that he had much more command of the offense. It will be up to Matt Nagy to get Trubisky in a rhythm early and then push the envelope. This is the perfect game to try building Trubisky’s confidence on throws downfield. The poise was improved and there needs to be another step taken on Sunday. While the running game is crucial, I don’t think that the Bears should sit on a lead and try and run out the clock. This is a team that you can score on. The running game will be there, but the Bears offense needs to start attacking vertically as well as horizontally. They need to get tape of it being successful out there or opposing teams are simply going to sell out against the run and take away the short passing game. If the Bears are going to chuck the ball around, then Trubisky will need time. The pass protection has been excellent through 2 games, despite “giving up” 6 sacks. 2 were scrambles to the line-of-scrimmage White Eric Kush Jerseys , 1 was a butt fumble, 1 was the last play of the game, and another featured a player (at least) 1 yard off-sides at the snap. I am not worried about the protection, it’s been excellent. Now is the time to take advantage of that great protection and take some shots!Defensively, this has all the makings of a bloodbath. Whether Sam Bradford remains the starter, Mike Glennon makes and appearance, or rookie Josh Rosen gets his first start, this isn’t likely to be pretty. The Cardinals offense has mustered just 350 total yards in 2 games. For comparison, their defense has allowed 429 and 432 yards respectively. Neither Bradford nor Glennon can move Eric Kush Jerseys 2019 , each with the same foot speed as the Statue of Liberty. Would the Cardinals dare make Rosen’s first start against this defense? I should hope not. All of this looks bad, very, very bad, but this is still an NFL team. The last thing that the Bears can do is get complacent. After a last second loss to the Packers and a too-close-for-comfort win over the Seahawks, the Bears front-7 is going to have to push and keep pushing all game. It should be embarrassing for a defense that features Khalil Mack, Akiem Hicks, Danny Trevathan, et al, to allow the Cardinals to even make this game relatively close. There is virtually no running game to speak of White Cordarrelle Patterson Jerseys , so watch for another all-out sack barrage from the Bears front. If they can get to the fleet-footed Russell Wilson 6 times, they should be able to replicate that against a statue, a taller statue, or a guys who is likely to crap himself facing the Bears defense for his first taste of NFL action. Either way, I expect to see a lot destruction and red jerseys lying on the ground in this game. That’s what I will be watching for on Sunday afternoon, what about you? The Bears played a much more complete game against the Seahawks last week. This should be an easy win—if such things exist in the NFL—but they cannot get complacent if they want to take another step. Check out my ‘which players to watch for’ right here. Bearman Don Wachter has been named as an inaugural inductee to the Ford Hall Of Fans at the Pro Football Hall Of Fame (HOF). Wachter, of Plainfield, Illinois, will be inducted into the hall during a ceremony the week of the NFL HOF ceremonies Cordarrelle Patterson Jerseys 2019 , and will attend the HOF game.He was notified that he was a winner of the Hall Of Fans nomination process the same way that NFL HOF winners are, by a knock on his hotel room door by Pro Football Hall Of Fame President David Baker.Wachter was one of three finalists out of a field of six semi-finalists. The three were told that one of them would be named today, Friday, February 1. In a twist, the company actually awarded all three induction into the Hall Of Fans, so the initial class will have three members. This is a great time of year to be thankful for what we have http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-derwin-james-jersey , where we have been, and what the future holds.  the month of December still holds such incredible promise! This advent calendar is an attempt to hearken back to these days of December joy. Each day will bring a new advent from the Bolts’ history that makes it wonderful to be a Chargers fan.Dec. 09: A History of Chargers Vs. BengalsThe history between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Cincinnati Bengals has a little bit more meaning to me when these two teams meet up. I’ll explain in a bit, but before that lets get acquainted with the team with the second best helmet in the NFL鈥hen these two meet later on today, it will be the 36th time these teams have met. The Chargers lead the all-time series 20-15, but that gap has narrowed down recently. In the past five meetings, the Chargers have only won once- in 2013’s AFC Wildcard game where they won 27-10 on the heels of touchdowns from Ladarius Green, Danny Woodhead and Ronnie Brown. I guess if you are going to win any of the past five games, make it count in the playoffs. The last time these two teams played was in 2015. That game saw the Bengals jump to an early lead, forcing the Chargers to play catch-up all game. Stevie Johnson and Malcolm Floyd scored the only Chargers touchdown that day. The touchdown pass from Philip Rivers to Johnson in the third quarter was Rivers’ 255th, passing Dan Fouts on the Chargers all-time list. Perhaps the most famous meeting between these two clubs happened in 1981. Dubbed the ‘Freezer Bowl’, the Bengals hosted the Don Coryell-led Chargers for the AFC Championship game winning 27-7. The game was called the Freezer Bowl because it was the coldest game in NFL history as far as wind chill. That day there were 27 mile per hour winds swirling in Riverfront Stadium, making it feel like -37 F.For more Chargers/Bengals matchup results here is a link.鈥︹€?..Which brings me to the special significance I hold when these two teams play each other. This story involves my sister who is four years younger than me, which in 1988 puts her at the age of seven years old. So one day I’m sitting there and I ask her who her favorite NFL team was. She didn’t really watch football, and I’m not really sure why I even cared if she had a favorite team or not. But that day I made her choose a team. She seemed interested and so I had to figure out the best way for her to make her choice. There was no internet back then, so finding a way for her to unobjectively choose her favorite team took some imagination. And then I remembered one of my greatest pastimes around Christmas: skimming through the annual Sears Christmas Wish Book Catalog to make my Wishlist. After practically memorizing that whole catalog from looking at it everyday the previous winter, I knew that catalog would have all the logos. In color.I flipped to the NFL section to let her look at all the teams and she chose the Cincinnati Bengals. As she told me that day, ‘They have the best helmet”. I’ll give credit to my sister. She’s been rooting for the Bengals ever since then. And it has now been 30 years since that fateful day. She’s been rooting for them for a lot of four and three win seasons, and even a two win season. As Chargers fans, we think we’ve had it bad, sometimes we forget that the Bengals for a time there had people showing up to the games wearing paper bags over their heads. We’ve been to a few games at the Q and I always felt like I had to protect her from unruly Chargers fans if anything came up. They didn’t, but I always felt on the ready. So, with that being said, I kind of created this Bengal Monster that I call my sister. She wears her jerseys, she has this Bengals head piece she brings over when they play. Its an all-around great time when we get to meet up as sibling rivals. That’s why there’s a little bit more a stake when these two teams play each other. And it’s always one of those games that I always look forward to every time they play. The Chargers are primed for a busy offseason defined by a number of internal personnel decisions. Some of those decisions will be easy, while others could prove to be exceedingly difficult for a variety of reasons. Either way, they have to make all of these decisions between February 4th and the beginning of free agency on March 13th.As is the case with most NFL teams, the Chargers will have to undertake some creative cap management if they want to free up enough money to sign their internal free agents, extend a few players with expiring deals, and dip their toes into the free agent market on March 14th. This article is the first installment of my “Offseason plan” series, in which I will be taking about all of the in-house moves the Chargers need to make in order to set themselves up for a fruitful free agent period in March. We’ll start with some cap management decisions in this piece – namely the players the Chargers should cut, restructure, or extend this offseason. From there, we’ll talk about free agents the Chargers should either sign or part ways with and finish up with their restricted and exclusive rights free agents.Let’s get started…Potential Cuts:Corey LiugetI think most of us would agree Corey Liuget has not lived up to expectations since signing his current contract a couple years ago. He has battled injuries, his production is down across the board, and he even had to face the embarrassment of a PED suspension last season. The Chargers seem to be concerned with how Corey’s career is trending, as they restructured his contract last offseason by eliminating the fifth year of his contract and converting $4,000,000 of his 2018 salary into a 2019 roster bonus. As we look at Corey Liuget’s 2019 cap figure, we see he is owed $9,500,000, which is comprised of a $4 Womens Antonio Gates Jersey ,000,000 base salary, $1,500,000 in pro-rated signing bonus money, and $4,000,000 in roster bonuses that become due if he’s on the roster on March 15th. Cutting him before March 15th saves the team $8,000,000 in combined base salary and roster bonuses. I think you know where this is going. His best chance at survival depends upon whether or not Brandon Mebane retires, and if the team gets spooked into keeping Corey in Brandon’s absence.2019 Cap Number: $9,500,000Cap Savings: $8,000,000Dead Money: $1,500,000Odds of being cut: 85/15Travis BenajminWhen the Chargers signed Travis Benjamin in 2016, they thought they were getting a dynamic #2 receiver with deep speed who would also breathe life into their anemic return game. What they got was an undersized, timid gimmick receiver who has long since been replaced as their primary kick and punt return specialist. Yes, I know he made two huge catches in Kansas City this year, but even those two catches don’t change the fact that he’s been an immense disappointment since becoming a Charger.Personally, I would cut Travis Benjamin. He just isn’t worth the $6,500,000 he’s owed in 2019 and, with his contract expiring next offseason, they don’t have the wiggle room to cut him without extending his existing contract. Cutting Travis saves the team $5,250,000 against the cap, which is a pretty significant number. Unfortunately, my gut tells me he will probably stick around long enough to play out his deal, with the team opting to keep the veteran receiver in light of what I expect will be Tyrell Williams’ inevitable departure via free agency. I think they’ll discuss cutting Benjamin before deciding to keep him.2019 Cap Number: $6,500,000Cap Savings: $5,250,000Dead Money: $1,250,000Odds of being cut: 50/50Jahleel AddaeCan we finally stop pretending Jahleel Addae is an NFL-caliber free safety? Addae was awful in the second year of his new deal, as he struggled to cover ground, took embarrassingly bad angles to ball carriers and missed far too many tackles. He was the single biggest liability on the Chargers otherwise impressive defense and his struggles were highlighted by his inexplicable interception-turned-fumble during the Chargers week 17 win in Denver.I think most Chargers fans agree Jahleel Addae should get cut this offseason. Not only would it save the team $5,000,000, but it would force them to find a legitimate solution to their current problem at free safety. To my dismay, Tom Telesco recently stated that Addae is a “tone setter” for the defense, and is someone with whom they are very happy. So, while I would cut Addae before you could say “Addae misses another tackle”, it seems the team has fooled itself into believing he’s good enough to stick around.2019 Cap Number: $6,000 Denzel Perryman Jersey ,000Cap Savings: $5,000,000Dead Money: $1,000,000Odds of being cut: NilRestructure candidates:These restructures will work as follows: Team A and Player A agree to a “new” contract that involves a “new” signing bonus. That “new” signing bonus is actually base salary the team and player agree to convert to signing bonus money, which gets pro-rated, or spread evenly over the remaining years in the contract. Russell OkungWhile Russell Okung was certainly one of the two best members of the Chargers offensive line in 2018, that isn’t saying much. And it’s fair to say he showed some signs of regression. Russell struggled badly with speed rushers, was called for some untimely (and in some cases phantom) holding calls, and seemed to spend a good portion of the 2018 season on his heels. While it isn’t fair to say he was bad, it’s definitely fair to suggest he lost at least a half step, if not a full step.Because Russell Okung has two years left on his contract, the team is presented with an ideal opportunity to reconfigure his deal by converting base salary to bonus money that would be pro-rated over the remaining two years of his agreement. If they converted $4,000,000 of his $13,000,000 2019 base salary to bonus money, his 2019 cap number would be reduced from $15,968,750 to $13,968,750, thus saving the team $2,000,000 against the 2019 salary cap.Approach: Convert $4,000,000 in base salary to signing bonus2019 Cap Savings: $2,000,000 Downside: 2020 cap number would jump to $18,000,000Odds of being restructured: 65/35Philip RiversI don’t need to tell you about the season Philip Rivers had in 2019, so we’ll get straight to how the team could restructure his contract. It will work in a similar fashion to Okung’s restructure, except in Philip’s case they would also tack on an additional two years at about $50,000,000 with $25,000,000 in guarantees. The new guarantee would include a conversion of $5,000,000 of Philip’s $11,000,000 base salary in 2019 to bonus money, as well as the $12,000,000 in guarantees he’s owed this year.I know it sounds confusing, but hang with me for a second. Under the new agreement, Philip would earn $6,000 http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-craig-mager-jersey ,000 in base salary in 2019 and $9,500,000 in 2020 and 2021. His $25,000,000 in “new” guarantees would be spread evenly over all three years of the deal, at a cost of $8,333,333 per year. Rivers would earn a total of $14,333,333 in 2019 and $17,833,333 in 2020 and 2021, respectively. It would save the team $8,666,667 against the cap in 2019 while simultaneously committing an extra two years to Philip. Seems like a win-win to me.Current 2019 Cap Number: $23,000,000Current Base Salary: $11,000,000Current Guarantees: $12,000,000New Deal: Three years, $50,000,000 with $25,000,000 in guaranteed moneySalary converted to 2019 Cap Savings: $8,666,667Extension candidates: NoneWe already restructured and extended Rivers’ contract and I expect the organization to use their franchise and transition tags to protect their interests in Gordon and Henry while attempting to negotiate extensions next offseason. That leaves Brown, Watt and Pouncey and, quite frankly, I think it makes sense let things play out for another season before extending those three players. And now it’s time for the inevitable letdown. Why? Because we essentially just went through all of that so I could tell you that I don’t really expect anyone other than Corey Liuget to get cut, and there is a chance he survives yet another offseason depending upon what happens with Brandon Mebane. Liuget should get cut, but I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if Tom Telesco talks himself into kicking the can down the road for another year if and when Mebane retires. Meanwhile, I fully expect the team to keep Travis Benjamin and Jahleel Addae around for another year. They’ll retain Benjamin under the guise of “veteran leadership and experience” when Tyrell Williams leaves as a free agent and, of course, they could never survive with the “tone-setter”, Jahleel Addae. So it looks like we’re stuck with those contracts for another year.As for the restructures, I think the likeliest person to restructure is Philip Rivers. It may not happen exactly as I laid it out, but it will follow a similar model. And he’ll do it because that’s what leaders, and especially quarterbacks, do in the salary cap era. Tom Brady takes pay cuts every couple of off seasons to help the Patriots manage the cap and, if Philip wants extra help on the offensive line, he will too. It isn’t a slight on him and it doesn’t undermine what he did in 2018, it’s just business and I’m sure he understands he has a small window to win a ring before he retires. Now is the time. Thanks for reading my thoughts on the cuts, restructures and extensions the Chargers should make this offseason. Please stay tuned for the next installment in my offseason plan series, which will cover my plan for the Chargers restricted and exclusive rights free agents this offseason. And don’t forget to tell me what you think the Chargers should do in the comments section below…

It was set to be a relatively quiet week until Thursday night Womens Tommy McDonald Jersey , when the Eagles traded for Jordan Howard, taking care of a hole at running back. A 6th round pick for a player as productive as Howard is a steal. Don’t take my word for it, take the people who watched him, they’re livid.Other stuff happened too. Let’s review.Speaking of review鈥reat news, pass interference is now reviewable!Bad news, the refs are going to screw it up. You know they will. This is a league that can’t figure out what a catch is. It said Nelson Agholor. You could probably chalk Brandt’s prediction up to the ineptitude and rigid thinking of the Chip Kelly front office. But Baldy’s prediction is riskier. He’s not only saying that he thinks the Eagles are picking Player X, but he is also saying that the Colts are just as interested in him, so that they may have to trade up to get ahead of the Eagles. Or that the Eagles might have to trade up to prevent the Colts from trading up. Game theory in action.Doug Pederson thinks Doug Pederson has room to improvePederson is already one of the best coaches in the NFL, combining outstanding leadership with strong play calling and pushing the league to new heights in aggressiveness. It was the team’s one and only practice at Lincoln Financial Field. Read on to see what I observed! Also, look out for a new BGN Radio podcast following Monday’s practice.• CARSON WENTZ UPDATE: Wentz turned in a pretty sharp performance in front of Eagles fans. Wentz notably connected with DeSean Jackson during multiple drills. Their first connection was when Jackson ran a crisp comeback route to create separation along the sideline for a 20-yard gain. Jackson should be able to get that play a lot since the defender has to respect his deep speed. Wentz connected with Jackson again in 1-on-1 when the veteran wide receiver absolutely smoked Rasul Douglas. Wentz ran out to his right and chucked a deep pass to Jackson Womens Jason Peters Jersey , who made a leaping effort to come down with the ball. As you can imagine, Eagles fans at the Linc loved that. I think it’s safe to say we’re going to see a lot of Wentz to DeSean this year. Good luck to the defenses trying to stop that. During a red zone series, Wentz threw a bullet between three defenders for a Dallas Goedert touchdown. He then hit Nelson Agholor on a fade route for another touchdown. And then Zach Ertz in the front left corner of the end zone for yet another. And as if that wasn’t enough, Wentz threw a touchdown to himself by catching a ball that got tipped by Malik Jackson. • EAGLES INJURY UPDATE: Prior to practice, the Eagles confirmed Kamu Grugier-Hill will be out “multiple weeks” with a knee injury. Jim Schwartz did say the team “will get him back eventually” this season. Nate Gerry and Zach Brown lined up as the first team linebackers with both Grugier-Hill and Nigel Bradham not doing team drills. Joe Ostman was carted off the field (STORY HERE), which is a real shame. Shelton Gibson also left practice early with some kind of injury.Richard Rodgers missed another day of practice. Mack Hollins continues to take reps in position drills but not team drills. Undrafted rookie free agent offensive tackle Casey Tucker Brian Dawkins Jersey , who got in a fight with Shareef Miller on Saturday, is out with a concussion. • Miles Sanders had three good runs that really stood out. The first one was a LeSean McCoy-esque jump cut to bounce to the outside and get in the end zone. Video below:Sanders followed that up with a run to the outside where he showed patience to let his blocks develop before exploding forward to the end zone. Sanders broke off a long run that caused many reporters to tweet about how he’s clearly the most talented running back on the team.I don’t disagree with that assessment. Sanders has juice that the Eagles’ other backs just don’t have; he moves so well. It’s just a matter of the rookie proving himself reliable to the coaching staff when it comes to things like pass protection and ball security. Going to be real interesting to see how Sanders fares in the preseason games. It feels like it’s a matter of “when” and not “if” he’ll supplant Jordan Howard. • Nate Sudfeld continues to look like Nate STUDfeld. The Eagles’ backup quarterback threw a perfect pass to DeAndre Thompkins on a post for 25 yards. He had another good ball to Greg Ward — who made a nice catch — in the end zone for a touchdown. Sudfeld floated a ball to Joshua Perkins in the end zone for another touchdown.• Alshon Jeffery dropped two passes he should’ve had but he redeemed himself with a leaping touchdown catch on a quick slant in the end zone. Rasul beat on the play.• Sidney Jones logged two pass breakups on Wentz throws while covering tight ends during the final 11-on-11 series.• For the second day in a row, Avonte Maddox broke up a red zone throw to DeSean. • Perkins made a sweet one-handed catch as he was falling on his touchdown reception from Sudfeld. Perkins also made a good leaping contested catch in 1-on-1 about 35 yards down the field. I currently have the Eagles keeping Perkins as a fourth tight end on their 53-man roster.• Boston Scott had a huge hole to run up the middle of the field and it ended with him getting popped by Johnathan Cyprien. New guy isn’t afraid to be physical. Case in point: Cyprien forced a fumble on Josh Adams after the running back caught a short pass from Sudfeld.• Corey Clement dropped his punt return rep. Clement had an issue fielding punts early last year before the team ultimately took him off those. • L.J. Fort did a nice job of snuffing out a screen pass. Good to see him showing up given the Kamu injury.• Clayton Thorson continues to struggle. He missed a wide open Perkins in 11-on-11. • Attendance figures:• We can be sure that at least one Eagles fan was having a fun time at practice:• Here’s to the troops:• Important reminder:UP NEXTThe Eagles will be back at the NovaCare Complex tomorrow for a light 10-10-10 practice starting at 12:00 noon. Stay tuned to BGN for more coverage, as always.

Let’s check it out!OffenseFor the second week in a row WR Dede Westbrook was the Jaguars highest graded player on offense. His overall grade of 76.5 ranked 18th among receivers, the bulk of his grade game in the run game where he ran for 20 yards on a jet sweep as the passing game struggled.Cody Kessler had a day to forget, completing only 9-of-17 passes for 57 yards. He was completely unable to challenge down the field and failed to complete a single pass that travelled more than 10 yards in the air. He was able to move the chains on the ground through scrambles as he ran for 68 yards and four first downs against Washington. His rushing grade of 77.0 was the highest by a QB in Week 15.DefenseInterior defender Abry Jones earned his highest grade of the season with an overall PFF grade of 85.0, the tenth highest grade by an interior defender this Week. Jones dominated in run defense Taven Bryan Jerseys Stitched , his four stops on 26 run snaps ranked second and his run stop percentage of 20 ranked seventh.Edge defender Calais Campbell continues to be the only bright spot on the team with another excellent performance. His run defense grade of 86.1 ranked third among edge defenders in Week 15, no other edge defender had more stops than Campbell with five (three versus the run, two versus the pass).Who else stood out to you from Week 15? Let us know in the comments below! The Jaguars made the first move in a $7.1 million game of chess, voiding the remaining guarantees in running back Leonard Fournette‘s contract and forcing Fournette to file a grievance aimed at challenging his status.Fournette will have 50 days to file the non-injury grievance, pursuant to Article 43 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. And he will. And an arbitrator eventually will decide whether Fournette’s contract includes language sufficient to void future guaranteed salary, as authorized by Article 4 Quincy Williams Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys , Section 9(g). Under that provision, the player and the team “may negotiate the circumstances under which the guarantee of any unearned salary . . . may be voided.” So the question then would be whether Fournette’s contract authorizes the voiding of his future guaranteed salary if he is suspended for misconduct occurring during a game. And the answer, based on Fournette’s contract, isn’t clear. The contract broadly voids guaranteed salary in 2019 and 2020 when the player “does not practice or play” for reasons other than a football-related injury, but it doesn’t specifically list failure to play due to a suspension for on-field misconduct. The problem, from the team’s perspective Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys Stitched , is that the contract enumerate other specific failures to play, including voluntary retirement, incarceration for a felony conviction (which implies that incarceration for a misdemeanor conviction doesn’t void guarantees), and suspensions for conduct detrimental to the team, violation of the Personal Conduct Policy, violation of the PED policy Quincy Williams Jersey 2019 , or violation of the substance-abuse policy. Thus, the argument from Fournette’s perspective would be that the failure to specifically include a suspension for on-field misconduct on the list exempts that type of a suspension from the general language voiding future guarantees. However it plays out, Fournette undoubtedly will fight it. Too much is at stake. And Fournette can make a case that holds more than a little water.

The Bears allowed 65 points over the first four weeks of the season Jonathan Bullard Jerseys 2019 , but they have not been as successful in the two games since their bye week. Not all of those points have come against the defense, but there have been enough issues for that unit that head coach Matt Nagy fielded questions about his confidence level during Thursday’s press conference.“You get concerned White Cody Whitehair Jerseys , but it not a panic,” Nagy said One obvious difference the last two weeks has been the health of Khalil Mack. Mack hurt his ankle against the Dolphins and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said on Thursday that Mack’s been “affec y it” since then. Fangio also said that the injury didn’t change his approach against the Patriots and called attempts to link the defensive downturn to the injury “a crutch.”The Bears continue their run of AFC East games with the Jets and Bills the next two weeks and they should offer chances for the defense to get back on track for a second half that includes five divisional matchups. Mitchell Trubisky was able to do enough work at practice to earn a limited listing on the Bears’ injury report Wednesday Cody Whitehair Jerseys 2019 , but a return to the starting lineup may not come for at least another week.Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Bears plan to start Chase Daniel at quarterback against the Giants on Sunday. Daniel started in Chicago’s Thanksgiving win over the Lions while Trubisky was inactive due to the right shoulder injury he is still dealing with this week.Garafolo also reports that Trubisky could play right now, but that the team is choosing to play it safe. Head coach Matt Nagy has hinted that the team would go in this direction by comparing Trubisky’s situation to the one the team was in with linebacker Khalil Mack and wide receiver Allen Robinson earlier this season. Both those players were held out of two straight games earlier this year to ensure they recovered fully from injuries before getting back on the field. The Bears won both of those games and they’ll be hoping that things play out the same way if Trubisky is sidelined again this week.

Antonio Gates this season Philip Rivers Jersey , but reversed course after Hunter Henry tore his ACL in offseason workouts.Gates isn’t playing the same kind of role that he played for most of his first 15 seasons with the Chargers. He has 19 catches for 239 yards and two touchdowns while playing on just under 33 percent of the team’s offensive snaps this season.Gates would like to be doing more, but said it is in “my best interest and my team’s best interest that I continue to stay positive in terms of where we’re trying to go” because he needs to be ready to make a play at any moment.“It’s challenging when you become accustomed to doing something for so long and doing it at a high level,” Gates said, via ESPN.com. “But the bigger picture is not what I can do individually. It’s more about the team and what I can do to help us win http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-gordon-jersey , and I just need to be ready for that time, whenever it’s called.”Gates showed he can be effective when circumstances dictate throwing in his direction with a season-high five catches and 80 yards against the Broncos a couple of weeks ago and caught a key two-point conversion in a win over the Steelers that made the big picture a little brighter last Sunday. Mark Konezny-USA TODAY SportsThe 2019 Los Angeles Chargers (save a late signing and eventual cuts) are now in place. And defensively, they have made some big changes. They were already one of the National Football League’s best units. They ranked 8th in Football Outsiders’ DVOA (7th if you prefer the weighted variety), were 9th in yards allowed per game, and were 8th in points allowed per game. They made an enormous addition by subtraction move in letting go of safety Jahleel Addae early in the offseason. They added one of the top free safety prospects from the NFL Draft by snagging Nasir Adderley of Delaware in the 2nd round. They retained the rest of their outstanding defensive back group including Casey Hayward Joey Bosa Jersey , Desmond King, and Derwin James.Their linebacking group has only gotten deeper and more athletic with draft picks Drue Tranquill and Emeke Egbule. They also added a tremendous veteran presence with free agent signing Thomas Davis.Tom Telesco bookended his draft with defensive tackle talent. Notre Dame’s Jerry Tillery, one of best defenders in the draft fell to pick 28 and represents a huge upgrade on the interior. And while he’s not the same level of impact by any means, Cincinnati’s Cortez Broughton has a chance to see real playing time despite being a 7th round selection. There is also a good opportunity for important returning players like Joey Bosa and Kyzir White to play a full season this year.Overall http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-derwin-james-jersey , this unit was already very good, but they look a lot better now. How much better do you think they are?

Nick Foles into the fold. On Wednesday when NFL free agency officially begins he will put pen to paper on a 4-year Youth Quincy Williams Jersey ,..."To no one’s surprise the Jacksonville Jaguars have brought free agent quarterback Nick Foles into the fold. On Wednesday when NFL free agency officially begins he will put pen to paper on a 4-year, $88 million deal with $50 million guaranteed. We don’t know the structure of the contract yet so it’s hard to pin down how much cap room the Jaguars currently have, but they should not be done in free agency right now.I would have to imagine the Jaguars will structure Fole’s deal in such a way with a signing bonus to where the 2019 cap hit is lower, much like they did with Blake Bortles deal last season, so they can add more help. As the offense stands right now, just replacing Bortles with Foles helps but it’s not good enough.I think the Jaguars should still target a wide receiver and an offensive lineman, at the very least in free agency. There are some bargain free agent tight ends that will be available for a little bit Womens Quincy Williams Jersey , such as former Jaguars Marcedes Lewis and Austin Seferian-Jenkins, however they need to add a skill position player in some regard. In the receiver end I think the perfect addition would be Golden Tate, and not just because he played a little bit with Nick Foles last season. Tate is someone the Jaguars targeted before he went to the Detroit Lions in free agency but he also provides them someone that is dangerous with the ball in his hands. Currently they don’t have that outside of Dede Westbrook, so you need more of them. Foles is a quarterback who is going to hit a lot of quicker shorter passes, so adding players like Westbrook, Tate or John Brown make sense. The tight end market is a little weird, as most of the top guys are off the market now. Unless you’re going to gamble on someone like Jared Cook Cheap Quincy Williams Jersey , you’re looking to the 2019 NFL Draft for that position, maybe even as high as seventh overall. The other thing the team needs to do is find a veteran starter at either right guard or right tackle. We know who they have at left tackle through center and they’re good enough, but the whole right side of the line needs to be replaced and they shouldn’t be trying to rely on a rookie + Will Richardson. Richardson couldn’t even sniff the game day roster last year, so I have no faith he will be ready to start in 2019. You could gamble on someone like Daryl Williams at right tackle coming off injury or a cheap option like Mike Remmers or Jordan Mills. I don’t know that they want to pay would it cost to bring in the likes of Rodger Saffold, but if you can make it work make it work. You’re trying to win now, so sort out the cap later. Foles once again helped the Eagles make the playoffs in 2018, but they lost in the Divisional Round to the New Orleans Saints. The Jaguars are signing Foles to lead the way since they still feel they have a good team that can make the playoffs and the 2018 season was just a result of Blake Bortles turning back into Blake Bortles and the team being ravaged by injuries. The hope will be that Foles is that calming force who is going to keep you in games and even drive down the field late and win a few for you.

An improved running back room should display a shift in style." NewsNotesFrom The Desk Of...The David Montgomery and Mike Davis EffectNew White Adam Shaheen Jerseys ,37commentsThe Bears were among the NFL’s worst at multiple-back rushes last year. An improved running back room should display a shift in style. CDTThe Bears knew they had quite the headache to contend with in their running back conundrum this off-season. A migraine would be more accurate. Trading Jordan Howard, drafting David Montgomery, and signing Mike Davis was an emblem of leadership at Halas Hall recognizing Chicago’s backfield drink had to be shaken and stirred. (Sorry, James Bond.) A reasonable expectation for this newfangled backfield trio of Montgomery, Davis, and Tarik Cohen is them helping to evolve the Bears offense. They can start by dramatically lifting and shifting one specific rushing aspect alone. Football Outsiders conducted a comprehensive analysis regarding the prevalence and success of carries from single and multiple-back formations, and how successful NFL teams were in using each in the 2018 season. (For the layman: a single-back carry is defined as any formation where there is only one other player in the backfield aside from the quarterback, and that player takes a rush. A multiple-back carry is where there are at least two other players in the backfield aside from the quarterback, and one of those players takes a rush.)The workhorse 300-carry back is largely considered obsolete across most of the league. So it makes far more sense to condense any running backs evaluation into carry splits, formations, and their success rates. Last year’s Bears didn’t fare well with either of the formerly mentioned lineups. On single-back carries Sam Acho Jerseys Stitched , the Bears were 21st in rushing DVOA with a 314-attempt sample size—over 67 percent of their rushes. On multiple-back carries, the Bears were 18th in rushing DVOA with a 51-attempt sample size. Piece both facets together, and they ranked 19th overall. Let’s make the low-hanging fruit assessment: the Bears were mediocre at running the ball no matter how they lined up last year. It seems indictments of that fact can’t stop funneling in.FO’s Scott Spratt detailed how reliant the Bears were on one back to take them to a middle-of-the-road promised land, and what it might mean for Chicago this fall:The Bears’ offense is going to have to balance a lot in 2019 given the increased number of competent weapons, on paper. Finding a happy medium with their running backs in Montgomery and Davis, and still properly using the explosive Cohen, poses among the stiffest schematic challenges for Matt Nagy and his staff. That each member of this trio is versatile enough to accomplish any task asked of them is a luxury the Bears haven’t been able to enjoy with their backs in a long time, let alone any of the past few seasons. The greatest bonus this trio will offer the Bears is that they’ll allow them to be less reliant on single-back rushes—at least when the situation calls for it. No longer do the Bears have to plow ahead with a one-dimensional back and thereby telegraph how their offense will operate when that back has a partner. Aside from each player being able to stand on their legs without any help, any combination of Cohen, Montgomery, and Davis in the backfield should be a treat for Chicago’s coaches. The nightmare for opposing defenses that “Run DMC” presents is implied. And yes, there are a few cynical fans, but their negativity comes from a passionate place too. At the end of the day, we’re all Bears fans and we all want our team to win a championship. Today, I want you guys to tell us how you became a Bears fans in the comment section. We’ve done these in the past White Mitchell Trubisky Jerseys , but with so many new faces I wanted to get us all a refresher. I’ll go first, and since I’ve given my story on her a few times, I’ll make it brief. My first favorite team was the... Dallas Cowboys. Yes I know, but it was the 70’s and they were America’s Team. I didn’t know any better. But my cousin was a huge Cowboy fan too, so I had to switch my allegiance. No, not to the Bears, but to the Pittsburgh Steelers! Mean Joe Greene, Franco Harris, Terry Bradshaw, Lynn Swan, and the fact that they seemed to always be the Super Bowl champs made it an easy choice to annoy my cousin. But then my stepbrother told me that Franco Harris was soft and that I should cheer for a team with a tough as nails running back like Walter Payton. I ignored him for a while Mitchell Trubisky Jerseys 2019 , but since I did live in Illinois, the Chicago Bears were on every week, so watching their games was easiest. It may have taken me a minute of really watching Sweetness run the ball that I opened my eyes and converted to a full fledged Bears fan. This was the early 80s, so the Bears hadn’t become the iconic 85 Bears yet, but watching Payton run was incredible. All eleven guys on defense knew that number 34 was getting the ball, but they couldn’t stop him. Payton made me a Bears fans. What’s your story?

But not everyone is sticking around. The Carolina Panthers announced yesterday the hiring of Taylor Rajack as their first ever director of football analytics. New owner David Tepper has been very vocal about his desire to incorporate analytics into the model of the Carolina Panthers organization, and this move signifies just how seriously he is taking the effort.Rajack had been with the Eagles for the past five seasons, earning a full-time position following an internship out of MIT, where he was studying to be a data scientist in the field of economics. On the topic of working with the Eagles Nick Foles Jersey , here’s what Rajack told Max Henson of Panthers.com:Rajack was previously the Eagles’ Assistant Director of Football Analytics. The Eagles intentionally have built out a large analytics staff in Philly, and accordingly, many of the key players, such as Andrew Berry and Alec Halaby, are still in place. They have four “Analysts” currently on staff http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-deandre-carter-jersey , who could potentially be in line for expanded roles: James Gilman, Jon Liu, Namita Nandakumar, and Chase Perlen. There’s no reason to expect the Eagles analytic team will take a large hit, given their relative size and the emphasis that general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Doug Pederson both put on the topic. It will be interesting to see Womens Nigel Bradham Jersey , if Rajack is successful in Carolina, how other teams may potentially try to snipe analysts from the Eagles’ ranks. Eagles tight end Zach Ertz had seven catches for 91 yards in last Sunday’s victory over the Giants and that’s the kind of productivity that the team has been able to take for granted this season.Ertz has 84 catches for 895 yards so far this season and both of those marks represent career highs for the six-year veteran. If he continues making plays at the same pace, he’ll hit a lot more than personal milestones. Brian Westbrook’s franchise record of 90 catches in a season will almost certainly fall if Ertz remains healthy and he is on pace to set an NFL record for tight ends as well.Jason Witten set a record for receptions by a tight end in a single season with 110 in 2012, but Ertz’s average of over 7.6 catches per game would leave him with 122 for the year if it remains in place. As Jeff McLane of Philly.com points out, Ertz is also on pace for over 1 Brandon Brooks Jersey ,300 receiving yards and no tight end has ever had that many yards and 100 catches in the same season.“Well, he’s a big guy and he’s got excellent play strength, a really good catch radius and strong hands,” offensive coordinator Mike Groh said of Ertz at a Tuesday press conference. “So he can catch it away from his body, and even in those tight spaces like you talk about http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-malik-jackson-jersey , he’s able to create a little bit more space for himself by using his body and his length.聽He’s got absolutely fantastic hands, so Carson has a lot of confidence in that and puts it in the right spot for him to be able to make a play.”Ertz may not wind up rewriting the record book in the final five weeks, but he’ll likely get every chance to do so unless the Eagles start doing something radically different on offense.

NEW YORK (AP) — Sometimes it’s not the quarterback who has fallen apart Youth Niles Paul Jerseys , it’s the quarterbacking situation that has gone wrong.Fans and “experts” can scream all they want about Eli Manning , Blake Bortles and Derek Carr . Bortles should never be counted on as the go-to guy on offense, and Carr doesn’t seem to have the confidence of the old/new coach. While the Patriots, Saints and Packers can relax knowing they have Hall of Fame-quality QBs, and the Steelers, Chargers and Seahawks have men behind center who could be in that company, a bunch of teams have predicaments at the key offensive position. And it’s not necessarily the players involved who should be the targets of all the criticism.Take Buffalo, for example. Bills faithful were so thrilled to see their team break that ridiculously long playoff drought that they ignored or pushed aside the fact the Bills are not real talented. Well coached for sure, but not brimming with stars. Then management messed up the backup QB configuration by acquiring, then getting rid of, AJ McCarron after having traded away Tyrod Taylor, who helped get them to the postseason for the first time since the turn of the century. Sure, going after Josh Allen in the first round of the draft made sense. Sticking him in behind a depleted and under-skilled line and with no true No. 1 receivers does not. What’s going on in Jacksonville is another example of much of the blame being misplaced. No Niles Paul Jerseys Stitched , Bortles has not earned his keep this season, but he’s been inconsistent throughout his five-year pro career, and there was no reason to believe he’d become an All-Pro.That’s not what the Jaguars were looking for, anyway — though they would have taken it. They want to pound the ball with Leonard Fournette, but he’s been injured almost as often as he’s been healthy. And they wanted to rely on their defense, which has sprung leaks.Bortles’ strength is as a complementary piece. When he has to be a focal point, he tends to flop. Then there’s Manning, whose two Super Bowl rings should have earned him a lot more respect and leeway than the New York fans or tabloids are willing to dole out. Manning hasn’t lost his grit, his intelligence or his arm strength. What he’s lost is a semblance of protection from an offensive line weaker than any other than perhaps Buffalo’s.Manning also is in a new offensive system for the third time in four years. If that’s a problem for a veteran quarterback — and it is — imagine how challenging it is for the relative kids.Rich Gannon, the 2002 NFL MVP who spent much of his career mastering difference schemes and now dissects them as one of the most insightful NFL TV analysts, points directly to system change as a culprit for poor quarterback play in some cities.“Different systems are the most dysfunctional situation you can have,” Gannon says. “A guy like Alex Smith, look at what he went through with all the coordinators in his first seven years in the league (in San Francisco). It’s crazy, and the player is never able to grow in a system. I think you see it with Mariota; Marcus is not able to grow with a system because of all those changes, and you are stunting their growth when you do it.“Suppose I say to you in the first year Youth Calais Campbell Jerseys , we are going to learn German together. Then I come to you the next year, we are going to learn Spanish. The next year it’s French, then Polish. You have nothing to fall back on and that is what is happening with a lot of these situations. They draft a guy and in his first year they put him through that?“You can’t let the system change around the quarterback. One of the biggest reasons that Mike McCarthy and Aaron, Sean Payton and Drew, or Tom and the Patriots have had so much success is (continuity). When Charlie Weis was getting ready to leave, the Patriots didn’t look outside, they stayed in the building and hired someone you didn’t know, Josh McDaniels. When Josh left (for Denver), they promoted Bill O’Brien. Then Josh returned.”Gannon also notes that putting novice quarterbacks on the field so early is a recipe for failure because of the practice limitations in the offseason and regular season. You can cram all kinds of stuff into their heads, and some playbooks stack high enough to use as Olympic diving boards.“It’s all about reps, right? Repetition is the mother of learning,” he says.“These rookies aren’t getting the reps. We have the rules where when they are in college and it’s not until they graduate can you get them in to the program. Then they took away quarterback school and some of the learning in the spring (through the CBA).“Most of them are not getting the reps initially — Allen and (Jets rookie Sam) Darnold weren’t getting a ton, even (Cleveland’s top overall draftee) Baker Mayfield wasn’t because they were going with Tyrod Taylor. Then Tyrod gets hurt and they go, ‘Now we’ll give you all the reps.’ That’s on Sept. 10. Can’t work like that.“More important is the thorough understanding of the system and how much they can retain and process. The coaches call these plays and the quarterback is walking to the line thinking about what he’s supposed to be doing, who is his No. 1 progression Calais Campbell Jerseys Stitched , what’s the personnel? They don’t even get a chance to look at the defensive side of the ball.“With Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady and Drew Brees, they hear that play and the whole play comes to life in a split-second for them. Their eyes are always set on the defense, what are the coverages and alignment, where is the pressure? Because they know everything instantly about the play. For the rookie, it is several stages down the road before reaching that.” The Jacksonville Jaguars will do one of three things with the No. 7 overall pick on Thursday night:They’ll trade down. It’s a deep class at their positions of need and if top tier defensive..."The Jacksonville Jaguars will do one of three things with the No. 7 overall pick on Thursday night:They’ll trade down. It’s a deep class at their positions of need and if top tier defensive lineman like Ed Oliver drops, a team like the Atlanta Falcons could be a good trade partner. They’ll pick a tight end. There are two very good players at the top — T.J. Hockenson and Noah Fant — who will not be there when they pick again in the second round. They’ll pick an offensive lineman, specifically a right tackle to fill the void of Jermey Parnell leaving. One right tackle linked with the Jaguars has been Jawaan Taylor out of the University of Florida.NFL insiders say that would be a bad move.Tony Pauline, appearing on 1010XL’s “Jaguars Today” radio program had some things to say about Taylor, none of which were good.“Teams have multiple medical red flags on Jawaan Taylor,” Pauline said. “He has knee, back, and weight issues that’s scaring teams.”What do you think? Are Taylor’s issues being overblown or should the Jaguars look elsewhere when it comes to the No. 7 overall pick? Let us know in the comments below!

Allison on injured reserve and continued to reshuffle their secondary by releasing safety Jermaine Whitehead and signing cornerback Will Redmond from the practice squad.Allison injured his groin in practice last week and might need surgery. He had 20 catches for 303 yards and two scores in five games Adam Shaheen Jerseys 2019 , having also missed time with a hamstring injury. The loss of Allison means more snaps for emerging rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who is averaging a 21.1 yards per catch.Whitehead has 17 tackles in seven games this year, making two starts. He was ejected from the 31-17 loss at New England on Sunday after being whistled for unnecessary roughness for slapping Patriots center David Andrews in the face during a shoving match.Redmond was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 11. A third-round draft pick in the 2016 draft by the 49ers, Redmond has also spent time in the Chiefs organization.Green Bay claimed safety Ibraheim Campbell off waivers from the New York Jets this week.
