Tom Brady was still in the game Lance Alworth Jerseys Stitched , still throwing passes, in the fourth quarter of a game the Patriots dominated throughout today.  off the dogs and rest Brady up for the AFC Championship Game?Because that’s not the way Belichick does things. Belichick said today that he doesn’t care if everyone thinks he should have pulled Brady, Belichick believes that teams should continue trying to score as long as the game has any conceivable chance of getting close again.“We’re trying to score until I thought the game got to the point where I thought they didn’t really have enough possessions to catch us. Look, we’ve seen Peyton Manning come back from down 21 points in four minutes and win. So it’s not over until it’s over in this league. I know I’m in the minority on that, but until it’s over you’re trying to score Derek Watt Jerseys Stitched , you’re trying to win, there’s no lead, no 28-point lead, 24-point lead, 21-point lead that’s ever safe in this league. I’ve seen them evaporate Youth Mike Williams Jerseys ,” Belichick said.Belichick has kept Brady in the game late many times in blowouts, and Brady has always come out unscathed. Belichick isn’t going to change his ways now. Sunday’s game in Seattle was the 200th straight start of Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers‘ career and there was no sign that the veteran’s enthusiasm for the game is waning.Wide receiver Keenan Allen said after the 25-17 win that Rivers is always hyped for games, but that he was “real hyped” for the matchup with the Seahawks. Rivers agreed with that assessment and pointed to the surroundings as the reason why he tapped into a deeper well of energy.“I was fired up,” Rivers said, via the team’s website. “I was fired up for many reasons. Some personal Mike Williams Jerseys Stitched , some just excited. I love playing here, and this is probably my last shot playing here. It’s exciting when you play in this kind of atmosphere and this environment. I think it was exciting to come out and see how many Charger fans were here. I was fired up. You like going against great defenses, especially guys like Bobby Wagner, K.J. Wright; guys that you’ve seen multiple times [that] you respect from afar. It’s just fun.”There’s been fun all over the map for the Chargers, who have won their last three games in Cleveland Youth Dan Feeney Jerseys , London and Seattle. They’ve won five straight overall and head to Oakland next weekend to try to extend that streak against the hapless Raiders before home games against the Broncos and Cardinals. It’s a schedule that offers a good chance to keep the wins coming, which would both keep pressure on the Chiefs in the AFC West and further reason for Rivers to be excited about coming to work.

Here’s how King described this activity:So Shareef Miller Jersey Color Rush , it sounds like King’s opinion is being influenced by inside information to some extent. That could be worth noting since King was pretty plugged in on the Eagles’ draft intentions last year. Now, it wasn’t shocking that Philly wanted to trade down from No. 32 in 2018 but, still, King was pretty adamant about that being the plan. Perhaps King knows something about the Eagles’ plans this year. If that’s the case, then his pick for Philly in his “non-mock draft” might catch you by surprise. King writes that he believes the Eagles should select Marquise “Hollywood” Brown at No. 25 overall.Brown was a common mock draft target for the Eagles prior to Philly’s decision to trade for Jackson. The speedy youngster has since been eliminated from the discussion. But should he be out of the picture? Should the Eagles double down on adding dynamic, deep passing threats? The argument for the Eagles still adding Brown is that Jackson is aging and team speed is something the team desperately lacked in 2018. With that in mind Cheap Shareef Miller Jersey , it’s hard to believe Philly could suddenly have “too much” speed. We also know the Eagles have been looking at receivers who can contribute in the slot. The team also has an obvious need for a pass catcher out of the backfield. Maybe the Eagles can envision Brown contributing in those areas. The argument against taking Brown is that the Eagles are currently spending the most 2019 cap space of any team on wide receivers. They’d probably have to move Nelson Agholor and his $9.4 million salary to open up adequate playing time for Brown. It’s also hard to believe the Eagles potentially passing up on fortifying the trenches at the expense of adding a shiny new toy on offense. Media opinions on Brown’s value vary. The Draft Network, for example, has him ranked as their No. 58 overall prospect. Former Eagles scout Daniel Jeremiah, meanwhile, has Brown ranked No. 16 overall. While the idea of having two DeSean Jacksons on the same team is very fun, I don’t think it’s the direction the Eagles will go at pick No. 25. I just think they’ll be looking to invest that premium resource in the trenches. The fact that King made this pick has me wondering a little Shareef Miller Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys , though. The rankings are in! Every year Pro Foobtall Focus releases it’s top 101 graded players for the season, and this time around four Philadelphia Eagles’ made the cut.Without further adieu, here are the top Eagles’ on the list.#5 - FLETCHER COXWe love Cox, PFF loves Cox, everybody loves Cox. How could you not? He’s the engine that makes the Eagles’ defense go and a top tier player in the league. There’s always a discussion around the Eagles’ front four that revolves around adding another interior presence to “free up Cox”. Even when he doesn’t have that sidekick and he’s receiving the bulk of doubles and center slides, Cox still gets the job done.#50 - BRANDON GRAHAMBitter sweet. Graham is likely to walk in free agency Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys Stitched , but we can appreciate his contributions all the same. Graham didn’t look at 100% health until the second half of the season and once he did he was an impact player. Regardless of what happens next, his legend will forever live on due to his clutch strip sack of Tom Brady in Super Bowl LII (which the Eagles won).#64 - JASON KELCEIs Kelce the best center in the NFL? I would make that case, and many others would as well. Despite being a Pro Bowl snub, Kelce fought through a banged up 2018 to turn in yet another dynamic performance. The Eagles’ offense would look much different without the supremely athletic and technically proficient center.#91 - ZACH ERTZIf you set a record for your position, chances are you’ll find yourself on this list. I’d argue he’s too low given his production and reliability, but rankings aside you’d be hard pressed to find a more polished route runner at the position.I’d be lying if I said Ertz being the “sixth-highest graded player” at tight end didn’t grind my gears. With 2018 behind us Shareef Miller Jersey 2019 , we look to the future. Ertz was the only new entry for the Eagles in PFF’s top 101. The hope is younger players can soon become staples. Who steps up next year?

JACKSONVILLE Marcell Dareus Jerseys Stitched , Fla. (AP) —  to Tom Coughlin’s public criticism Friday, saying the team knows why he’s skipping voluntary workouts.Ramsey did not elaborate on the reason for his absence in his Twitter post , but said he will be “ready when it’s time.”His agent, David Mulugheta, also released a statement Friday.“To be clear, Jalen Ramsey is exactly where Jalen should be during his offseason,” Mulugheta tweeted. “He’s spending time with his young daughter & family while training in his hometown of Nashville. In addition the Jags are fully aware of why he is not taking part in the voluntary offseason program.”Coughlin took a not-so-subtle shot at Ramsey and linebacker Telvin Smith during the team’s state of the franchise presentation Thursday.Coughlin, the team’s executive vice president of football operations, said “championship teams are dominated by selfless individuals who recognize that the welfare of the team must always be paramount to any other consideration.”Ramsey and Smith are the team’s only players who didn’t show up for the start of the team’s offseason program. Coach Doug Marrone said he reached out to both players and didn’t hear back from either one.Ramsey also skipped voluntary workouts last year, choosing instead to spend the offseason working out at his father’s training facility in Nashville, Tennessee. He’s entering the fourth year of his rookie contract Youth Marcell Dareus Jerseys , a four-year deal worth $23.35 million. He made the Pro Bowl each of the past two seasons, is widely considered one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL and is due to count $7.43 million against the salary cap in 2019.Smith’s absence was more surprising, especially since he’s been in attendance each of his first five years in the league and got a contract extension in 2017.“Success in the NFL demands struggle,” Coughlin said. “Those who have everything given to them become lazy, selfish and insensitive to the real values of team. The hard work that many try to avoid is the major building block for the development of an outstanding football team.“It’s not about rights and privileges. It’s about obligations and responsibility. And the question is, can we count on you? Doing the things the right way all the time; we are what we repeatedly do. Excellence therefore is not an act, but a habit.”NFLPA President Eric Winston reacted a short time later, saying the Collective Bargaining Agreement’s definition of voluntary “is the same as the actual definition of voluntary and prohibits anyone from threatening players to participate in voluntary workouts.”“This is precisely the reason players negotiated strict work rules and bright lines when it comes to offseason activities,” Winston added. “We know, from experience, that not all coaches and executives will adhere to them and we always pursue any violations to protect our rules.” JACKSONVILLE http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-niles-paul-jersey , Fla. (AP) — Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith, the team’s leading tackler the past two seasons and a Pro Bowl selection in 2017, is stepping away from football to “give this time back to myself, my family & my health.”Smith made the announcement Thursday on Instagram, saying “at this time I must take time away from this game & get my world in order.”“I appreciate all the support I will & will not get,” he added. “I just ask that y’all respect my decision to not play football this season.”A fifth-round draft pick from Florida State in 2014, Smith has 586 total tackles with 445 solo tackles, nine interceptions, 7½ sacks and five forced fumbles in five seasons. He’s one of only 13 players in NFL history to make 100 or more tackles in each of their first five years in the league. He signed a four-year, $45 million extension with Jacksonville in October 2017 that included $20 million guaranteed.Smith had been skipping voluntary workouts and hadn’t returned calls from team officials, raising speculation that he could be on the trading block or on his way out in Jacksonville.Personnel chief Tom Coughlin also took a not-so-subtle shot at Smith and cornerback Jalen Ramsey during the team’s state of the franchise presentation last month. Coughlin Cheap Josh Allen Jersey , the team’s executive vice president of football operations, said “championship teams are dominated by selfless individuals who recognize that the welfare of the team must always be paramount to any other consideration.”Ramsey and Smith were the team’s only players who didn’t show up for the start of the team’s offseason program. The Jaguars surely seemed to sense something was amiss regarding Smith. They signed former Green Bay starter Jake Ryan in free agency, drafted Murray State’s Quincy Williams in the third round — earlier than anticipated — and added five more linebackers in recent weeks.“I know the rumors of trade talk came about, but I started my career in Jacksonville & the day I do decide to call it quits it will be right here in Duval,” Smith wrote. The Jaguars declined to comment on Smith’s statement, saying “we need to have a conversation with Telvin to understand the situation and the circumstances.”“If there is a way we can support him, we need to understand that,” the team added.

COSTA MESA Phil Haynes Jersey , Calif. (AP) —  a free safety to pair with All-Pro Derwin James. The Chargers selected Delaware safety Nasir Adderley with the 60th overall pick in the second round Friday night. They concluded the night by taking offensive tackle Trey Pipkins of Sioux Falls with the 91st overall pick in the third round.Los Angeles came into the draft with their two biggest needs being defensive tackle and safety, which it was able to fill in the first two rounds with Notre Dame defensive tackle Jerry Tillery and Adderley.“The draft has kind of gone as advertised,” general manager Tom Telesco said. “I can’t complain. It has been pretty good so far.”Adderley was considered by many to be the highest-ranked safety in this year’s draft class but was the fourth one to come off the board. That was just fine for Telesco, who had Adderley in for a pre-draft visit.“All I was telling people after my visit was how it was a perfect fit and how I enjoyed my meetings with the coaching staff,” Adderley said.James made an instant impact last season at strong safety and was an All-Pro selection. The Chargers did not have a true free safety last season.Jahleel Addae started all 18 games at free safety last season but was released before free agency started. The biggest reason the Chargers released him was that he was better suited as a strong safety.Rayshawn Jenkins and Jaylen Watkins also can play free safety Ugo Amadi Jersey , but both are unproven.“The free safety spot is wide open. The starter is no longer here,” Telesco said. “Nasir was a player that we really coveted. His range is excellent and he has a good combination of foot speed and instincts.”Adderley was a four-year starter at Delaware. He had 87 tackles last season along with four interceptions and seven passes defensed. He played cornerback his first two seasons before switching to free safety.Adderley said he patterns his game after Baltimore’s Earl Thomas, whom Chargers defensive coordinator Gus Bradley knows very well. Bradley was Seattle’s defensive coordinator during Thomas’ first three seasons (2010-12) with the Seahawks.“Once I went to free safety, everything started clicking,” he said. “I think I add physicality and competitiveness.”Adderley Dwayne Haskins Jersey , who had 11 interceptions during his college career, is the highest-drafted player from Delaware since Joe Flacco went 18th overall to Baltimore in 2008. The Blue Hens have had three players drafted since Flacco, but one went in the fourth round and the other two were selected in the fifth round.Adderley is the cousin of Pro Football Hall of Famer Herb Adderley, who won three Super Bowl titles with the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys.“He helped me tremendously by being a positive role model. I don’t know where I would be without him,” Nasir Adderley said.Pipkins is only the second player from Division II Sioux Falls to be drafted. The first was punter Brian Hansen D.K. Metcalf Jersey , whom New Orleans took in the ninth round in 1984.Despite coming from a small school, Pipkins played in the East-West Shrine Game and was invited to the scouting combine. He was interviewed by Telesco and the coaching staff during the combine.“I had heard a lot of fourth-round stuff. I was kind of expecting tomorrow,” said Pipkins. “My agent had said — because a lot of teams had fourth round on me — if somebody really wants me that they would have to take me in the third round.”Pipkins started at left tackle his final three years at Sioux Falls and Telesco said he has the traits to be a left tackle in the NFL.“There are some players at Division II and Division III who can dominate but not have enough athletic traits to play at this level,” Telesco said. “He has NFL size and feet. There’s a lot to work with.”Los Angeles goes into the draft’s final day on Saturday still looking to build depth at linebacker and the offensive line. The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed Pro Bowl fullback Roosevelt Nix to a four-year contract.

The 25-year-old Nix played in all 16 games for the AFC North champions this season. Used primarily as a blocking back for All-Pro Le’Veon Bell, Nix did score the first two touchdowns of his career in 2017. He caught a pass from Ben Roethlisberger in a victory over Baltimore on Dec. 10 and added a one-yard touchdown run against Houston on Dec. 25.

Nix initially signed a reserve/futures contract with the Steelers in January http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/authentic-cody-barton-jersey , 2015 and gradually worked his way into a starting job. He’s played 41 of a possible 48 regular season games during his time in Pittsburgh.

This is the first time the Chicago Bears have been in the playoffs since 2010 Marcus Cooper Jersey , but it’s also the first time since 2010 that I haven’t been writing or talking about what the Bears will do in the NFL Draft or discussing coaching hot seats during the first few days of the new year. I’d rather do this that the other stuff, so if the Bears could make this an annual thing, that’d be great...In my latest T quickly touch on the way the Bears ripped the Vikings’ hearts out of their chests in Minnesota’s must-win game, but then I settle in and get all up into some Bears vs. Eagles playoff preview. The Bears are the hotter team, but are the Eagles hungrier? How much of a help will Matt Nagy’s familiarity with Eagle QB Nick Foles be?Vic Fangio vs. Doug Pederson and Matt Nagy vs. Jim SchwartzDarren Sproles is Philly’s X-FactorHow is the Eagles pass protection? And more!Listen now...ORDER YOUR CLUB DUB APPAREL NOW(Click on the links below)Club Dub T-ShirtClub Dub HoodieYou can subscribe to the Windy City Gridiron podcast channel where ever you get your podcasts, including iTunes, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher and more, and by doing so you’ll get all of WCG’s podcasts!Stock up, Stock down: Bears vs. Bucs This was finally the game Bears’ fans have wanted to see from the team http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-fuller-jersey , particularly the offense, all year. Not only was there another dominating performance by the defense, but Mitch Trubisky had his first explosive arrival on the scene since the Bears drafted him a year ago. While the Tampa Bay defense has been generous to opposing QBs, it’s still nice to see Trubisky exploit that. An average or bad QB would struggle to do as well as Trubisky did on Sunday. The defense was its usual bad self: Forcing fumbles, picking off passes and just generally being disruptive and aggressive until they called off the dogs and allowed a garbage time TD.There was a lot of good this week, so it might be tough to find three players for the ‘stock down’ portion of this article, but there are things to be done! I would say then, take any criticism through the lens of a 38-point victory rather than strong criticism of a bad player. And for clarity’s sake: Khalil Mack is not on the list because I am trying to highlight improved and struggling players, but Mack’s stock cannot go higher right now. He is simply the best player on the field whenever he is on it. Pretty simple there.Stock upMitchell Trubisky, QB - How could a record setting performance, especially after the struggles and lumps of the first three games Womens Bryce Callahan Jersey , go unnoticed? This was the breakout performance and hopefully the sign of what’s to come. Granted, we know he can’t throw five first half TDs every single week, but this is hopefully the confidence boost he needed to turn the corner. Take advantage of a weak opponent and use it to get your head right and hopefully the game is beginning to slow down for him. Very promising.Eddie Jackson, S - For the second week in a row Jackson found himself in a position to make a play on the ball. On his interception he broke from about six yards back of Mike Evans, just as Ryan Fitzpatrick cocked to throw, and closed for the pick. Jackson has rarely been out of position. In fact, since a couple of missed tackles in the first couple of games, he’s really been mistake free. He’s a great playmaker in the secondary.Taylor Gabriel, WR - I realize that this isn’t so much as a change Gabriel has made, as I think he’s been open a lot through the first three games, this is more on Trubisky actually delivering throws. However Josh Bellamy Jersey , I still thought Gabriel warranted a shout out. He had a career high in yards (104), receptions (7) and matched a career high in touchdowns in a game (2). He previous highs in yards and catches came as a rookie when he was on the Browns back in 2014. Gabriel adds a different dimension to this offense and I think he’s looking to prove he’s more than a speed threat.Honorable mentions: Kyle Fuller, Cohen, Aaron LynchStock downJordan Howard, RB - I am not worried about Howard, yet. I think this week is more of an indictment of the game plan (Nagy seemed to see something in Tampa’s D that favored the match up Tarik Cohen gave them) and the fact that the one thing Tampa’s defense actually does well is stop opposing running backs. Howard will get going, but this wasn’t his strongest outing.More to consider on that from Lorin Cox:Kevin White, WR - This isn’t exactly a surprise, but at the same time, with Anthony Miller down, it was surprising to see that White earned an increase in snaps but no targets. He played well when he did http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-anthony-miller-jersey , throwing a block on a screen, but he’s still a non-factor in the passing game. Kevin Toliver, CB - Toliver was put in a tough spot and he didn’t do terribly. He was always going to be targeted a ton with Prince Amukamara out and Kyle Fuller locking down Mike Evans most of the day. He was on DeSean Jackson on his 47 yard catch, and was also targeted on Evans’ 13-yard twisting grab. He had some tough assignments, and the damage could have been much worse, but someone had to be here.Who did I miss? Who made your list; good and bad?

He reverted to a problem from earlier this season taking too many sacks. Most costly White Virgil Green Jerseys , he misread coverage and threw a pass that was intercepted and returned for a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter.Yet for all those issues, Wilson was a slightly deflected pass away from leading a remarkable comeback and getting the Seattle Seahawks into overtime against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.Encapsulating Wilson's performance in Seattle's 25-17 loss to the Chargers is not simple. At times, he showed the same brilliance as a week ago against Detroit when he posted the first perfect passer rating in team history. In other moments, Wilson looked uncertain — especially with Seattle's run game working only in spurts because of a hip injury to starter Chris Carson. He'll be lauded for giving Seattle a chance to force overtime on the final, untimed play of regulation following a pass interference penalty against Tyler Lockett in the end zone. But he'll also lament Chargers safety Jahleel Addae getting the tip of his finger on the throw and deflecting it just enough that David Moore couldn't make a clean catch."I knew it was a tight window and we tried to get it in there," Wilson said. I think it maybe got tipped a hair. It was tough. David has done a great job all year making those plays."Wilson's day mirrored Seattle's as a whole. Their offense was great on the opening possession, only to face problems with penalties and sacks that put them in difficult down-and-distance situations and caused the offense to stagnate. Defensively, the Seahawks allowed the Chargers to average 10 yards per play in the first half, and rush for 7.3 yards per carry for the game. Melvin Gordon ran for 113 yards on just 16 carries, averaging 7.1 yards per rush.Big plays were a problem, too. Seattle allowed a 34-yard touchdown run by Gordon, a 28-yard run by Keenan Allen, a 54-yard pass to Allen and a 30-yard TD toss to Mike Williams."I feel like we got in our own way a lot," Seattle defensive end Frank Clark said. "When you look at the past few weeks, you watch how much we've improved from where we started. It's obvious. The stats don't lie. The rankings don't lie where we placed. But at the end of the day Virgil Green Jerseys 2019 , we didn't come to show that today. We didn't show up and show out at the end of the day and that's what you've got to do in this league."Despite those issues on the defensive side, it comes back to the play of the quarterback as usual. Seattle's intended style worked to perfection on the opening drive when Wilson used up more than half of the first quarter and capped the 13-play drive with a 10-yard TD pass to Brown. From there is where Wilson and the Seahawks struggled. Of Seattle's next nine possessions, none gained more than 49 net yards and only one — finishing off the first half — ended in points when Sebastian Janikowski hit a 44-yard field goal. Wilson was sacked three times and while he was 15 of 20 passing for 148 yards during that stretch, many of those completions came with Seattle facing long down-and-distance situations. Seattle had just 53 yards rushing in the second and third quarters combined after running for 45 yards on the opening drive of the game."We got behind the sticks today and it hasn't happened for about a month now. ... It changes everything. That's not the way we've been playing," Seattle coach Pete Carroll said.Despite all that, Wilson nearly pulled off another fourth-quarter rally. Wilson hit Nick Vannett on a 6-yard TD with 1:50 remaining to cut the Chargers' lead to one score. Seattle got the ball back with 1:24 left at its own 22 and after two completions and a roughing the passer penalty on Melvin Ingram, the Seahawks were at the Chargers 44 with 50 seconds left. Wilson scrambled for 16 yards to the Chargers 28 and, after a spike, Seattle had 30 seconds left.Seattle got a break on the pass interference call, putting the ball at the 1 for an untimed down. Seattle's J.R. Sweezy was called for false start backing the play up to the 6, and Wilson's final attempt for Moore was partially tipped by Addae and fell incomplete."It was really close. We had a chance but it didn't work," Wilson said. 1: On paper, this looks like the weakest Patriots team for a few years - but they still managed to get a first round bye! That’s testament to just how dominant the Patriots have been, but is that a statement you’d necessarily agree with? Is this Patriots team more fallible than in years past?Let’s go back 10 years: in 2008 and with Tom Brady sidelined due to an ACL tear, the Patriots went 11-5 but lost their division on a tiebreaker and ultimately missed the playoffs. This year White Mike Pouncey Jerseys , they went 11-5 during the regular season and are the second seed in the AFC. What I’m is that New England managing to get a first-round bye despite their worst record since 2009 is as much a testament to their own performance — they are, after all, just one Miami Hail Mary play away from being the top seed — as it is of the overall inconsistency of the AFC in 2018.That being said, I certainly agree that the Patriots look more vulnerable this year when compared to some of their past editions. While defense and special teams have settled late during the regular season, and New England now features Pro Football Focus’ top-ranked secondary left in the playoffs (ahead of the Chargers’), for example, the offense very much remains a work in progress and is still searching both its identity and a certain level of consistency. The main reason for that appears to be personnel turnover. Not only did New England lose its top two wide receivers and starting running back from a year ago, it also saw plenty of in-season turnover — from Julian Edelman’s suspension to Josh Gordon joining the team and leaving it again, to Rob Gronkowski’s struggles and Sony Michel’s and Rex Burkhead’s injury issues. The hope is that the team will finally find some stability heading into the playoffs.2: I was devastated to see the news that Josh Gordon may have relapsed again. That’s probably him done as a member of the Patriots, but how big a miss will that be for New England on Sunday? There is no denying that the Patriots are worse without Gordon on the field. While he never reached 2014 levels during his 11 games with the club this year, he was still a capable and consistent weapon — one that could win contested catches and challenge defenses in a way New England’s other offensive weapons couldn’t.In the two games since Gordon’s departure, the Patriots used Chris Hogan in his old spot as the number two wide receiver alongside Julian Edelman. While an experienced player that shares a certain chemistry with Tom Brady, Hogan is like a poor man’s version of Gordon: he’s neither that fast nor that physical nor has the same outstanding hands. He is a solid role player, sure, but is no big play threat like Gordon. In that sense Mike Pouncey Jerseys 2019 , Gordon will be a big miss. Then again, the Patriots are masters of adapting and through the two games without Gordon they did just that with Hogan, Cordarrelle Patterson and Phillip Dorsett taking on bigger roles in the offense. Are they as good as the ex-Brown? No, but they can still get the job done.3: Much has been made of the idea that Rob Gronkowski might be past his prime at the age of 29. What’s the deal there, and what kind of impact do you expect him to have on Sunday’s game?Earlier this week, we posted an article on Pats Pulpit titled ”Don’t expect Rob Gronkowski to have a big game against the Chargers.” The rationale behind it is as follows:The Chargers have a really good defense against tight ends and rank first in the league when measured by Football Outsiders’ DVOA statistic (Gronkowski, for comparisons, ranks 12th among tight ends)Gronkowski, who has caught 47 passes for 682 yards and three touchdowns during the regular season, is having a down year compared to the lofty standards he sat between 2011 and 2017.So what does this mean for Sunday? Obviously that the Patriots shouldn’t put all their eggs in the Gronkowski basket. While he might still have some positive plays, he does not appear to be the player any more — at least in 2018 — to consistently put pressure on defenses. He did it for stretches this year, against the Texans, Chiefs and Dolphins, but simply failed to string good plays together as a pass receiver. The reason for that can only be guessed without word from the organization, but I think that the ankle and back injuries he has been nursing for most of the year are still limiting him. While he could go off against L.A. with two weeks rest (especially on play-action passes down the seam against the Chargers’ cover 3 defense) White Isaac Rochell Jerseys , it appears much more likely that he has to take a backseat to other options in the offense on Sunday.4: To me, it seems like Bill Belichick is the master of picking up players off the street and turning them into valuable contributors for the team. Are there any players that you could see having a major impact on the game that perhaps don’t get the love they deserve from the national media? The first player that came to my mind when reading this question was special teamer Albert McClellan. He was picked up after the Baltimore Ravens released him midway through the regular season and became a fixture on special teams — a player that regularly makes big plays whether it is tackles or blocks (he had two punt blocks in week 14 against the Miami Dolphins). With the Chargers having one of the NFL’s most dangerous returman in the fold, McClellan could play a big role.On the defensive side of the football, I’m going with J.C. Jackson. An undrafted rookie free agent, Jackson has grown every week and is now the Patriots’ top perimeter cornerback opposite Stephon Gilmore. While he still makes his fair share of rookie mistakes, the 23-year old has proven himself a ballhawk that has a natural feel to locate the football, as well as a physical press-man cornerback. It would not be a surprise to see New England use him one-on-one versus Mike Williams with a safety (possible Devin McCourty) shaded to his side over the top.Now that we have talked special teams and defense we should also go to offense, and my choice here is Trent Brown. Normally, I would take a skill position player but as Tom Brady’s blind side protector, Brown will play as big a role against the Chargers’ talented pass rush as any other man on the team. If the in-draft trade acquisition from the 49ers can continue his excellent season and in turn keep whoever lines up on the opposite side of him away from his quarterback, New England’s chances of winning should improve drastically.5: Personally, I think the Patriots will have the most success against the Chargers defense by playing power football, utilizing heavy sets and letting James Develin lead the way. Do you think that a gameplan that takes the ball out of Brady’s hands for the majority of the game is something that the Patriots would be comfortable with, or are we more likely to see Tom putting on a passing clinic?I agree that the running backs will play a big role in the game, but their roles might go beyond traditional running of the football. Just take a look at last year’s game between the Patriots and the Chargers when James White and Rex Burkhead combined to catch 12 passes for 153 yards as New England used the short passing game as sort of an extension to the running attack. It worked very well in 2017 Isaac Rochell Jerseys 2019 , and might do the same thing this week. But with that in mind, I have to point out that the Patriot are very well a team that is as good as any in the NFL at finding and exploiting mismatches. If New England sees a defensive alignment like the one the Chargers used highly effectively versus Baltimore last week I have little doubt they will run power on them: Sony Michel and James Develin in the backfield, with Rob Gronkowski — still an excellent blocker — and Dwayne Allen helping up front. The Patriots, as opposed to the Ravens, have a much more traditional running attack but one that can counter speed with power. And once a presence on the ground is established Brady might try a few shots deep off play-action. Primarily, however, I think the Patriots will use a power running game and a short passing attack to put pressure on the Chargers’ defense and get the football quickly out against an outstanding pass rush.(Bonus Question, if you’re up for it!): Could we get a score prediction for the game?I have been wrong plenty of times in my life, so maybe this will help Chargers fans. Anyway, I’m going 24-17 Patriots — because I simply can’t pick against a Brady-Belichick led team in the playoffs. Especially in Foxboro. And off a bye.

The talented wide receiver is playing in Chicago for the first time since he left the Bears after five seasons and joined the Philadelphia Eagles. He’s not feeling sentimental. The Eagles (9-7) have a tough road trying to defend their Super Bowl title J.J. Arcega-Whiteside Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys , starting with a wild-card game against the Bears (12-4) on Sunday.“I don’t have any emotions. I don’t have any feelings, honestly,” Jeffery said. “It’s a playoff game and they’re just in the way of where we want to go. I can’t wait for this game, for sure. That’s all I got to say. We’re playing the Bears, but if we were playing anybody else I still couldn’t wait to play this game. I’m excited to be in the playoffs.”Jeffery established himself as one of the NFL’s top receivers during his time in Chicago. He went to the Pro Bowl after the 2013 season when he caught 89 passes for 1,421 yards and seven touchdowns. He followed with 85 receptions for 1,133 yards and 10 TDs in 2014. Jeffery missed 11 games over the next two years and his numbers dipped. He turned down more money in free agency from the Vikings and signed a one-year, $9.5 million deal to play for the Eagles in 2017. Jeffery played a key role in helping Philadelphia capture its first Super Bowl championship and was rewarded with a four-year, $52 million contract.Jeffery had no problem adjusting to a different role his first season in Philadelphia, where he became one of several targets instead of being the main guy. He had 57 catches for 789 yards and nine TDs in 2017 while playing through a shoulder injury that required surgery after the season. He missed the first three games this season and still posted 65-843-6 in 13 games.“The way he approaches each and every day and each and every practice Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys 2019 , the way he takes care of himself, and certainly from a competitive maturity standpoint,” Eagles wide receivers coach Mike Groh said, explaining how he’s seen Jeffery grow since they were together in Chicago. “He understands the moment and what it takes and when he has to ramp it up and when he has to make plays to help us win. He’s in a really good groove right now. I think he is playing with a lot of confidence.”Jeffery has been at his best with Nick Foles at quarterback and in the biggest games. He caught 16 passes for 301 yards and a touchdown in the past three games, all must wins with Foles behind center.Jeffery knows he might hear some boos when he walks out onto Soldier Field, which he called “terrible” from a footing standpoint.“Boos? It don’t matter to me,” Jeffery said. “I play for the Eagles. That comes with the nature of the business.”Jeffery already faced the Bears last season in Philadelphia, a 31-3 rout for the Eagles. He had five catches for 52 yards and one TD.NOTES: DE Michael Bennett (foot), CB Sidney Jones (hamstring), LB D.J. Alexander (hamstring) and QB Carson Wentz (back) didn’t practice Thursday. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsThe Philadelphia Eagles and Chris Long have agreed to push back the $1 million roster bonus he was set to receive today (Wednesday, May 1) until the first day veterans report for 2019 training camp, according to NFL insider Field Yates. This delay gives Long even more time to decide if he wants to retire or not.Long hasn’t totally closed the door shut on returning to the Eagles. But based on what he’s said recently, it seems like he’s leaning towards not coming back to Philly in 2019. Long told the Eagles to “plan like I won’t be back.” He also tweeted these things last week: Putting Long aside, the Eagles currently have Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett, Vinny Curry, Josh Sweat Cheap J.J. Arcega-Whiteside Jersey , Daeshon Hall, and Joe Ostman under contract at defensive end. The team also selected Penn State edge rusher Shareef Miller with a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Eagles could really afford to add Long to their current group of pass rushers but it sounds like they’re not offering him the role that Long desires. And so retirement seems like the more likely option, unless Long changes his mind. There’s always the possibility the Eagles could look to trade Long to a landing spot he’s comfortable with. But it’s unclear if that option is really in play.If they’re sure that Long won’t be back, the Eagles could look to sign another pass rusher in free agency. Ezekiel Ansah, for example, is still on the market and signing him after May 7 won’t impact Philadelphia’s compensatory pick formula. The first day that veterans report for Eagles training camp will be at some point in late July or early August. We’ll find out more about Long’s decision by then.UPDATE: Long tweeted some more stuff today.

The Tennessee Titans aren't close to panicking over sloppy run defense Will Richardson Jerseys 2019 , and the Jacksonville Jaguars gives them a chance to show just how much better they can be.opener with a tight hamstring and sat out Jacksonville's win over New England last weekend. Fournette has been limited in practice this week.Titans' three-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Jurrell Casey said Tennessee will come out with the same mindset no matter who the Jaguars (2-0) hand the ball to on Sunday."It's going to be our job to stop the run," Casey said. "We haven't really done that in the last two weeks. We have to make sure we improve a little better. But we're definitely prepared for it. We've been playing against the guy the last couple years, and we understand their scheme. So it's going to be key for us to make sure we stay gap sound. We do that, we'll definitely stop their run game."With Dick LeBeau as defensive coordinator, nobody in the NFL was better than the Titans at stopping the run over the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Tennessee gave up an average of 88.5 yards per game over the past two seasons and a league-low 2,833 yards rushing overall. They ranked fourth overall Black Brandon Linder Jerseys , first in the AFC, against the run last season.Vrabel brought in Dean Pees as his coordinator this offseason, and the veteran coordinator brought in a few scheme changes.Through two games, the Titans gave up 120 yards rushing in the season opening loss in Miami and 148 in a 20-17 victory over Houston last week. That has the Titans 25th in the NFL through two weeks against the run giving up an average of 134 yards a game. While the Titans are still familiarizing themselves with the defensive changes, it's also a bit early in the season. Linebacker Brian Orakpo said the Titans can help themselves by not trying to do too much."Whatever call is being made out there, we have to execute it Brandon Linder Jerseys 2019 ," Orakpo said. "We can't have guys doing their own thing. That's playing for your teammate, making sure you play your assignment within that call. I think that's what's kind of been hurting us against the call. Guys just trying to do a little too much. Do what you're supposed to do within the defense, and everything else will take care of itself."The Titans swept the Jaguars last season and held Fournette to 40 yards on 14 carries with one touchdown run in Week 2 as Tennessee won 37-16 in Jacksonville. Fournette ran 19 times in the regular season finale, a 15-10 Tennessee win, and finished with 69 yards. He also caught four passes for 67 yards more.If Fournette plays Sunday, Tennessee can't focus solely on him. Quarterback Blake Bortles already has run for 77 yards this season Black Josh Lambo Jerseys , fourth among quarterbacks in the league, and he's averaging 7.7 yards per carry.All-Pro safety Kevin Byard said the Jaguars are more balanced spreading the ball out when Fournette is out of the lineup, so the safety is hoping to face the punishing running back personally."One of the hardest rushers in the league, this guy runs behind his pads, a strong runner," Byard said. "I hope he plays. I think you want to go up against some of the best guys in the league."Notes: Titans coach Mike Vrabel said QB Marcus Mariota was limited but did more Thursday. They’re looking out for one another and they’re keeping each other’s spirits up — you kind of have to at the tail end of a disappointing season where you’re 4-8 instead of 8-4.One such instance of that brotherhood happened when Dede Westbrook caught a pass from Cody Kessler on a pivotal third down. Kessler was hit as the pocket collapsed around him and Westbrook grabbed it and ran, dragging defenders towards the Colts’ 40-yard line while getting twisted up himself. Cole is seen watching the play for a moment before getting into the play and......pushing Westbrook to the ground? On first watch it looked a little weird. Was Cole trying to push him along and just got the angle wrong? But then Westbrook cleared it up this morning by saying Cole pushed him to the ground on purpose because “the Calvary was coming and you were about to get f****d up”.Hopefully the two can continue to look out for one another on a short week of preparation for their next game in Nashville against the Tennessee Titans.

The Bears started off red hot Marcus Cooper Jersey , marching right down the field on their opening drive. Our resident Optimist Prime reviews and critiques the small yet loaded class selected by Ryan Pace."The wait is over. After what felt like an eternity between free agency and the 3rd round of the 2019 NFL Draft, we have our rookie draft class solidified and finalized for the Chicago Bears. Bears general manager Ryan Pace and his scouts can have their long deserved vacation/break with most of the roster build-up completed. For those needing a refresher, Ryan Pace traded the Bears’ first round pick for the right to secure outside linebacker Khalil Mack’s contract from the Raiders. Prior to that, Pace utilized the 2019 2nd round pick to move up for wide receiver Anthony Miller during last year’s NFL draft. This resulted in the Bears not having a pick until the 3rd round of this year’s draft. I find that to be perfectly fine. Despite being such a small class due to Ryan Pace’s aggressive 2018 offseason campaign, this group is filled with solid players who all can contribute immediately. And, staying true to form, Pace aggressively traded up in the 2019 draft to secure a player he wanted the most. What’s more, is there are no more glaring holes on the Bears’ roster. Make no mistake. They’re ready for their run at the Super Bowl. 1st Round, 24th overall: Khalil Mack; Outside Linebacker; Oakland Raiders Grade: A+ to the infinite powerHe is a Hall of Fame caliber player that destroys offensive coordinators careers who’s locked up in Chicago for the foreseeable future. There’s no need to discuss this (trade) further. 2nd Round http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-fuller-jersey , 56th overall: Anthony Miller; Wide Receiver; Memphis (2018)Grade: AMiller led the Bears in touchdown receptions during his rookie season in 2018. Had he not been injured early in his campaign, he could have broken many rookie receiving records. His future is extremely bright. 3rd Round, 73rd overall: David Montgomery, Runningback, Iowa State Grade: A+First, watch this video below. Say what you want about trading away future assets to move up a whopping 14 spots in the middle of the draft. As the video above exhibited, Ryan Pace got his guy no matter the cost. Not only do runningbacks matter in the NFL, this was the one real question mark left on the Bears’ starting offense even after free agency. They just did not have a guy who earned Matt Nagy’s complete trust in his total gameplan on offense. What’s more, is he wanted a player who can step in right away as the featured back on all three downs. Problem solved. David Montgomery is precisely the type of back Matt Nagy has been seeking; a good all-round back who contributes in the ground and air. Montgomery consistently draws comparisons towards Kareem Hunt given their respective production and play styles in Matt Campbell’s offense at both Toledo and Iowa State. I happen to see a bit of James Connor in terms of playing style, where Montgomery might be slightly smaller, yet just as tough if not tougher. Like Hunt, Montgomery isn’t the fastest player clock-wise; instead he possesses tremendous explosiveness and short area quickness to hit the holes hard both inside and out. That’s more important than raw speed alone. Plus, he’s a willing pass blocker and a natural receiver out from the backfield. His work ethic and “never die easy” mentality when toting the rock is second to none in this year’s stock of backs. If you’re looking for any room for improvement, it’s that he could be just a bit more physical when merging in pass protection. Also, his footwork in that area could be refined. Then again, the same could be said for every back in this year’s class. So, in complete honesty, I have zero issues with this selection. This is by far the best pick in this year’s draft for the Bears. As I predicted in a piece I wrote earlier this offseason, barring anything catastrophic Womens Bryce Callahan Jersey , he’s Matt Nagy’s guy at runningback for the foreseeable future. And he’ll be a damn good football player. 4th Round, 126th overall: Riley Ridley; Wide Receiver; Georgia Grade: A-You can never have too many weapons on offense. This, truly, is a case of Ryan Pace picking the best player available on his board. Receiver wasn’t a position of need, where Ridley projects as a true possession receiver at the next level. He runs fantastic routes, and that’s a critical element when transitioning into the pros as a receiver. The one slight knock I have with this selection is that I feel he won’t be a huge contributor for the 2019 season. He can become a solid player this year, and will be a good addition over time; yet I don’t feel it’s likely to happen this year. His lack of breakaway speed does factor in with his projected time for development. As it stands, the receiving corps is stacked with Allen Robinson II, Taylor Gabriel, and Anthony Miller at the top of the depth chart. Also, players like Trey Burton, Tarik Cohen, David Montgomery, and Cordarrelle Patterson are all likely to be targeted frequently as well. There are so many players to feed on this offense. Patience will be needed with this pick, as he’ll need to continue his craft of running crisp routes for him to consistently gain separation at the NFL level. I won’t be surprised to see him eventually factor in the Bears’ long-term plans along side Anthony Miller from 2020 and beyond, though. 6th round, 205th overall: Duke Shelley, DB, Kansas State Grade: C+There was a need to create more competition at the nickel position regardless of Buster Skrine’s addition in free agency. They elected to wait until the 6th round for that need to be addressed Josh Bellamy Jersey , and they selected a real “boom or bust” prospect. Shelley’s strength comes in his speed and ability to mirror receivers in coverage. Much like D.J. Moore from years past in Chicago, he’s not afraid to get in anyone’s grill while pressing off on the line of scrimmage despite his 5’9” frame. Technique-wise, he’s rather solid, and his tenacity will fit in Chuck Pagano’s defense. What I have a problem with is his tackling. It needs to get much better if he’s looking to compete for a starting job, whether that’s inside in the slot or outside on the boundaries. Also, he’s a bit stiff with his hips, as his game speed and lateral speed doesn’t resemble his respectable 40 time of a 4.46. Look for him to compete on special teams, and eventual figure his way into the rotation at nickel if all goes well. His work ethic and desire to get better will drive him to perform better than what his draft status dictates. 7th Round, 222nd overall: Kerrith Whyte, Runningback, FAUGrade: B+This was the most surprising pick for me. Even though fellow draftee Montgomery figures to consume a lion’s share of the load in the backfield, and players like Cohen and Davis are backing him up, Pace elected to double dip into the deep pool at runningback. And it’s not necessarily a bad pick. Whyte brings speed to the position. A ton of speed; he ran a 4.37 in the 40-yard dash and his game speed is arguably quicker. He’s also a great kick returner, becoming the first player in the program’s history to return a kickoff for a touchdown, and totaling 2 between 2017 and 2018. Also, where he played in Devin Singletary’s shadow for most of his collegiate career, he still produced large numbers as the primary backup. His vision, on the other hand, isn’t all too great. Too many times did he get himself into trouble while being reluctant to wait for his blocking to develop up front. I didn’t notice him much in pass protection http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-anthony-miller-jersey , not that FAU actually relied on their backfield to contribute as often as other offenses do in college. I see Whyte being a rotational player who’ll pair nicely with Cohen in speed-oriented packages while being a possible player to add in the return game on special teams. 7th Round, 238th overall: Stephen Denmark; DB, Valdosta State Grade: B “Who?” That’s what a majority of fans on my timelines tweeted/posted/etc once the name was announced. I happen to know exactly who this player is. First, he hails from Valdosta State of the Gulf South Conference in DII football. That is a rival program to my alma mater, University of West Florida. He started his collegiate career off as a receiver before converting into a huge corner at 6’3” and 220+ pounds. His physicality and athleticism became a mismatch in coverage against receivers and even tight ends. Denmark is definitely a big “project” as well. He did have problems when breaking on the ball as his backpedaling wasn’t exactly fluid. What’s more is he does need to learn how not to not be as handsy in coverage, as he would have drawn quite a few flags under NFL officiating. Both of those concerns are correctable with coaching, albeit it will take time. He’s a special teams player at this current point in time who has a tremendous ceiling based solely on his measurables. And, quite frankly, there’s nothing wrong with that. Final Thoughts Where I am somewhat surprised to see no linemen in this haul, offense or defense, Ryan Pace did what he could do to maximize the value of his handful of selections. Again, draft picks shouldn’t be used exclusively to find cheap talent. Use them to their fullest effect, whether that includes a trade or not. There really aren’t any true reaches with this group in my opinion. The levels of contribution for each player will be different, and any of these players could exceed expectations. This will be a class that’ll take at least 2 full seasons to evaluate. Oh, and I’m personally glad the Bears didn’t draft a kicker. That was the one move I absolutely hoped to avoid at any cost; kickers have arguably the highest bust rate of any position when it comes to the draft. Just continue signing guys and let them compete for the job. That is unless Robbie Gould becomes available....#BringRobbieBack.

Those teams are apparently the Chargers, New England Patriots, and the New York Giants. According to Klatt, one of the three teams listed has already offered up a second-round pick for Rosen. However White Derek Watt Jerseys , the Cardinals are supposedly holding out for a first-rounder but he isn’t quite sure that’s going to happen. So great, the Chargers are actually doing some work and are possibly going to trade for Philip Rivers’ successor without having to give up a first-round pick in the process. But honestly, Tom Telesco and the Chargers never make any transactions of this caliber. It would be a surprise and a half if it were to transpire, but i’m not putting my money on itBut then there’s this:My good friend Benjamin Allbright, a noted NFL-insider with the Broncos, posted this exchange on his twitter account today.Apparently. it is the Chargers that have already offered a second-round pick for the quarterback. For those of you who are in favor of a trade for Rosen Derek Watt Jerseys 2019 , you may be in luck if this is true that the Chargers are the only team to make an offer. With one of the worst groups of surrounding talent in the NFL, Rosen threw for 2,278 yards and 11 touchdowns with 14 interceptions. On paper alone, his rookie season looks like a huge let-down. When you look at the tape, however, you can still see a lot of promise and those same intangibles that vaulted him to the top of the first round last year.If the Chargers were to pull this off White Jatavis Brown Jerseys , what would it mean for Philip Rivers? Do they extend him for just another year or two? He’s already mentioned he would like to play at least two more years. And what about newly-signed Tyrod Taylor? Is he all of a sudden trade bait?At the end of the day, I still think the possibility of a trade is extremely unlikely. But there’s been enough buzz over the last few weeks regarding the idea that I believe it’s definitely something worth keeping an eye on. Tom Brady has been the Patriots’ starting quarterback for 17 healthy seasons. Next week he will go to Kansas City and start his 13th AFC Championship Game.Brady’s Patriots dominated the Chargers today in New England, winning 41-28 and earning a berth in the AFC Championship against the Chiefs. It will be the 13th AFC Championship Game for Brady as the Patriots’ starting quarterback, and for Bill Belichick as their head coach. It was an absolutely incredible performance by the Patriots, who whipped the Chargers in all phases of the game. Brady was masterful, the running attack controlled the clock when the Patriots wanted to Jatavis Brown Jerseys 2019 , and the defense shut down Philip Rivers for most of the game after an early coverage breakdown led to a long touchdown pass.In fact, it was such an incredible performance that it was a fairly bad football game: It was so obvious by the second quarter that the Patriots would win a blowout that there wasn’t any drama in the second half. The Chargers scored a couple of garbage-time touchdowns to make the score look a little closer than the game really was.The story coming out of the game will be Brady, who at age 41 did not have his best season by any stretch but is still playing at a high level. As of next week Brady will have started as many conference championship games as Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana combined. (Bradshaw started six AFC Championships, Montana six NFC and one AFC.) That’s an incredible achievement. The last play of the first half spoke volumes about Brady: The clock ran out with the Patriots in field goal range and out of timeouts, and Brady was furious that the Patriots had botched the clock. The score was 35-7 at the time, but Brady wasn’t happy. That Brady is upset about one mistake in a game his team leads 35-7 is why Brady’s teams so often have 35-7 leads. Now the Patriots will face the Chiefs in a rematch of one of the best games of the 2018 regular season. And Brady will try to reach his ninth Super Bowl.

The Washington Redskins' starting left tackle was hit in the chest and felt lightheaded Harold Carmichael Jerseys 2019 , so the concern was a possible liver injury. Williams checked out just fine and was back at practice Monday."It didn't hurt that much," Williams said. "They wanted to be safe than sorry."That's a prudent approach for a team that's down to its backup quarterback, missing two starting offensive linemen and its top receiver for the rest of the season and could be without a handful of other key players for a big game next Monday night at the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Playing with a skeleton crew of starters has become the new normal for the Redskins."I looked at the group that we had out there when everybody was healthy and I was just like, 'Man, they won't be able to stop this crew,'" third-down back Chris Thompson said. "There were a lot of plans that we had for this team going into the 16-game stretch, but we just had to make a few changes because injuries happen."A lot of injuries have happened.Quarterback Alex Smith Black Randall Cunningham Jerseys , receiver Paul Richardson and starting guards Brandon Scherff and Shawn Lauvao are out for the season. Thompson hopes to play after missing so many games he can't count with broken ribs 鈥?six, in total 鈥?and it would be a major boost if receiver Jamison Crowder can return after missing almost two months with an injured right ankle. The Redskins have lost three of four since starting 5-2 and yet are still tied with Dallas at 6-5 atop the NFC East. Beating Philadelphia on the road Monday night in Colt McCoy 's second start at quarterback would go a long way toward winning the mediocre division, especially if the Cowboys lose at New Orleans on Thursday.Thompson has felt noticeable improvement from a fractured rib on each side of his rib cage and is optimistic he'll be strong enough to play within a week. The situation is a bit murkier for Crowder and cornerback Quinton Dunbar, who were among a host of players who didn't take part in a bonus day of practice Monday that followed a long weekend off.Because of the extra time before facing the Eagles, coach Jay Gruden and his staff can take a cautious approach with "sore" tight end Jordan Reed; right tackle Morgan Moses, who's dealing with ankle irritation; and defensive lineman Matt Ioannidis, who was held out with a calf injury.Like last season Randall Cunningham Jerseys 2019 , when injuries derailed the Redskins' playoff hopes long before the stretch run, it has been that kind of year with players going down left and right."It's always a change when you don't have your starters," Williams said. "Those are the guys that primarily you work with throughout the whole offseason and (organized team activities) to get on the same page. But that's why you stress that every guy has to be ready."Thompson is more than ready. The broken ribs have bothered Thompson when trying to sleep or when laughing or coughing, but the pain of watching his teammates lose without him has him eager to get back on the field."I just want to be back out there and be able to help my guys out," Thompson said. "I really believe that I can go in and make an impact." PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Avonte Maddox has turned into a do-it-all defensive back in a secondary decimated by injuries. The rookie fourth-round pick began the season as Philadelphia's fifth cornerback, but has become one of the team's most valuable defensive players. Maddox entered the starting lineup at safety in Week 5 after Rodney McLeod sustained a season-ending knee injury and backup Corey Graham got hurt.He moved to nickel cornerback in Week 9 after Jalen Mills also went down for the season. The Eagles also lost starter Ronald Darby for the season and nickel cornerback Sidney Jones has been plagued by injuries. Maddox missed three games himself before returning at outside cornerback and played a key role in a 30-23 upset at the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday. "I don't know if we win that game without Avonte," defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said. "We use him where we need him. Every week's been different. I have no idea how many different secondary lineups we've used. I'm sure it's been a lot Black Ron Jaworski Jerseys , just where we are and he's been ‘Johnny on the spot.' We've missed him when he wasn't in there. He has great speed, plays with a lot of energy, and as long as he's one of the 11 on the field, we'll find a spot for him somewhere."The 5-foot-9 Maddox plays tougher than his size suggests and is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team."I pride myself as a DB, anytime I can go out there and play a position. I'm going to give it my all, take pride in it and learn," he said.Maddox played four seasons at Pittsburgh and wasn't expected to contribute much beyond special teams after the Eagles selected him 125th overall. But injuries opened the door and he forced his way into the starting lineup with a strong effort in practice."He's been a real consistent player for us Ron Jaworski Jerseys 2019 ," coach Doug Pederson said. "He's a highly intellectual guy that understands scheme. He's a young player that's just going to continue to get better. He comes to work every day, he feeds off the veteran players."Malcolm Jenkins has been the rock in Philadelphia's secondary. While others around him keep going down, the two-time Pro Bowl safety has played every snap on defense and another 119 snaps on special teams.Jenkins sets the example for Maddox and fellow cornerbacks Rasul Douglas and Cre'Von LeBlanc. The unit will have another tough task this week against Houston receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Demaryius Thomas."I think he's by far the best player on their offense," Jenkins said of Hopkins. "He's going to make plays on the ball. He's a great route runner, strong after the catch. You've got to find ways to just limit his impact on the game."Notes: DE Michael Bennett (foot), DT Fletcher Cox (hip), K Jake Elliott (illness) Black Jay Ajayi Jerseys , WR Alshon Jeffery (illness), Jones (hamstring), G Isaac Seumalo (pectoral), QB Carson Wentz (back) and LB D.J. Sunday afternoon following a heart-wrenching defeat against the Indianapolis Colts Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys Stitched , dropping the Jacksonville Jaguars to 0-3 in the division. The truth is, there’s a lot we don’t know. We don’t know if this coaching staff, which was kept in tact following a successful 2017 campaign, will remain the same next year. Will coordinators Todd Wash and/or Nathaniel Hackett be on the sidelines when the 2019 season kicks off? That’s a topic for a different day. What we do know is this Sunday’s loss was the pin that deflated the balloon that was the Jaguars’ hopes of contending for a potential wild card spot in the AFC. For all intents and purposes, the 2018 season is over, and the chances of a repeat postseason appearance have dwindled beyond the scope of statistical feasibility. While Tom Coughlin will be reviewing the front office and coaching staff from a macroscopic lens, now is the time for Dave Caldwell and Doug Marrone to evaluate other players on the roster to determine if they can be a viable component of the 2019 team and beyond. This doesn’t mean promoting every single player from the practice squad, taking away lions’ share of reps from starters, or giving up on trying to accrue wins, but there are a few tweaks that could put this roster into better focus as they enter the offseason.Promote Allen Lazard and release Rashad GreeneGreene has had years and years of opportunities to contribute to this team, and not only has he not produced anything of value as a wide receiver, but he quite literally cost the Jaguars a chance to at least tie the game when he fumbled on a routine reception during a two minute drill. Greene has already become the yo-yo player that gets cut and re-signed based on injuries and player availability on game day, so the team moving on should be common sense at this point. At 6’4” 227 pounds, Lazard gives the Jaguars the wide catch radius, big-bodied possession receiver that they don’t have on the roster currently. Lazard was quiet in the preseason (to the point that I almost felt they were hiding him) and didn’t show a tremendous ability to separate when I evaluated him at the Senior Bowl, but I liked what I saw from his college film in my work for Optimum Scouting. Regardless, Lazard was a big-time player at Iowa State where he also contributed on special teams and now is the time to see if there is anything there worth continuing to invest in moving forward. Maybe Lazard is just a guy. Maybe he’s good enough to be a red zone specialist who can also moonlight as an auxiliary tight end in niche packages. Maybe he even becomes the next Allen Hurns as the surprising undrafted free agent that becomes a consistent, reliable receiver from this point on. While Lazard won’t deter the Jaguars from taking a wide receiver on day one or two in the draft, perhaps it affects the plans in free agency or taking a big-bodied target in the later rounds. There’s only one way to find out.Bench Barry Church for Ronnie HarrisonBarry Church was one of the more reliable players in the Jaguars secondary last season in terms of being a leader and organizer in the back end, but things could not be more different this year. Whenever there is a bust in coverage (like the several that occurred in the Colts game) Youth Jawaan Taylor Jersey , Church is almost always in the frame. That’s not to say he should get all the blame for this, as Telvin Smith has seemed lost off film review as well as a few others, but Church has also resorted to taking poor angles in run support and has honestly become a liability on the defensive unit.Ronnie Harrison is a rookie, but now ten weeks and a preseason into his rookie year, he should be mentally ready to take over as the starting strong safety. In his “brute back” big nickel role, Harrison has been fairly consistent with several splash plays that jump off the screen. With the Jaguars cornerbacks getting healthier, now seems like a good time to see how Harrison fits into the secondary puzzle moving forward, as Church will no doubt be a cap casualty at the end of the season. The Jaguars can replace Harrison in the big nickel with Jarrad Wilson, who should also be under review moving forward.Move Taven Bryan to 3-tech, give Dawuane Smoot strong side snapsIn just three quarters of football, Dawuane Smoot has almost made the same amount of impact plays as Taven Bryan has in nine games from the strong side end role when he showed maximum effort to run a player down on a crucial third down and long that could have deflated the momentum in the game. Smoot is still without a sack in his NFL career, but is stout against the run and at least seems to understand his run fits and gap integrity. Smoot basically will have a seven game audition to see if what he contributes as a run defender can merit a spot in 2019 camp. As for Bryan? My thoughts are well-documented.If healthy, start Ereck Flowers at left tackleI cringe as I type this, but Flowers was surprisingly solid in his Jaguars debut on Sunday before a knee injury knocked him out of the game. He did allow rushers to get their hands inside him on a few reps, but did well to maintain his anchor and showed good up field control as a run blocker. Please do not misconstrue this – I am not advocating Flowers to be a future starting tackle for this football team. However, with Josh Wells’ contract expiring, the Jaguars will be in the market for a swing tackle that can step in and do a respectable job if Cam Robinson gets re-injured or even push Will Richardson Jr. to accelerate his development. Flowers may have had his issues in New York, but if the Jaguars can get a veteran tackle with his experience for a veteran minimum contract next year, that could be helpful and becomes one less priority in the draft to have to reach for a guy, and Flowers seems to be enjoying his change of scenery. When healthy Mens Jawaan Taylor Jersey , give Quenton Meeks some rotational snapsMeeks will be sidelined for a few more weeks with a knee sprain, but the former Stanford cornerback tagged as a second round prospect by some reputable evaluators showed some nice flashes in his start for A.J. Bouye before getting hurt. The Jaguars are likely financially committed to Bouye through at least 2019 (although there is an interesting out in his contract after this season that leaves only $6 million dead cap), and for as much as they are paying Bouye, he should get as many reps as possible to earn his paycheck. With that said, if the Jaguars do find themselves in any blow out situations for the remainder of the season, Doug Marrone and Todd Wash should give Meeks some snaps and crucial game experience to continue his development. If Meeks can be cultivated into a starting caliber cornerback, that can become a home run in terms of cap relief for the future with his inexpensive undrafted free agent contract.Welcome to the offseason, folks! Earlier this weekend, our Alfie Crow opined about the current capabilities and restrictions that could face the Jacksonville Jaguars efforts in landing current Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick..."Earlier this weekend, our Alfie Crow opined about the current capabilities and restrictions that could face the Jacksonville Jaguars efforts in landing current Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles in the off-season, should that be the route they choose. This morning NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport reported that Foles’ current team will likely — and smartly — throw in an even bigger road block to any team’s plans to pursue the veteran quarterback this winter, as they stand set to seek a sign and trade deal either via the franchise tag or by exercising the quarterback’s 2019 option.Rapaport points out that either option would result in Foles receiving upwards of at least $20 million for the 2019 season. Foles and his agent undoubtedly will want whatever team acquiring him to produce a new deal with extended time and guaranteed money. Put aside the contract value for a moment though, one that the Jags would seemingly be hard pressed to afford at those figures while also having to eat the 2019 Bortles cap hit, and go back to the fact that the Eagles would be requesting additional draft picks in collateral. Rapaport states that the Eagles previously turned down an offer of a second round pick for Foles earlier in the season, so it stands to reason they are going to be looking for someone to offer either their first round selection, or a bundle of second day picks, both in 2019 and in future years, to acquire the quarterback’s services ahead of other quarterback needy teams. That puts the Jaguars in a precarious position as it stands. If Tom Coughlin received an edict from owner Shad Khan that the current group in the front office and head coach Doug Marrone must win in 2019 to keep their jobs, and they believe that a veteran is the way to ensure their best opportunity for success, then Foles is clearly the best option available and the price to acquire him will be staggering Jawaan Taylor Jersey 2019 , both in trade and financial capital. On the other side of the coin though, the NFL Draft itself has seemingly started to settle into having one clear cut choice for the top quarterback, in Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins. The problem for the Jaguars here is two-fold. For one, the teams picking ahead of them at spots five and six, in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Giants respectively, both seem likely to draft a quarterback within the first two days, especially the Giants who have a general manager that was non-committal on whether Eli Manning would return in a recent “state of the franchise” speech last week, and who seemingly have the offensive skill pieces in place to support taking a quarterback high and allowing him early success. Secondly, the draft is loaded with defensive talent and is likely to be a deep one for teams with needs particularly on the defensive line and in the secondary. This bodes well for the teams picking in the top four, any of which can likely be coerced into trading down with another team who may believe Haskins is their guy for the future and knows they’ll need to leap frog the Jaguars and perhaps the Giants to get him, with a top four team being able to move down and still get an elite player and a boat load of picks. To give you an idea of what a trade in the latter scenario might cost the Jags, in 2016 the Eagles traded their first, third, and fourth round picks in 2016, their first round pick in 2017, and their second round pick in 2018 to the Cleveland Browns to move up from the 8th overall pick to the second overall pick in order to draft Carson Wentz. Is that worth it if you end up with a Carson Wentz? No doubt. Are you mortgaging your next three years of draft capital to find out? Yup.Thus leaves the current situation the Jaguars now find themselves in. If they want the premier veteran quarterback on the market, they’re going to have to come up with a significant amount of draft picks and cash. If they want the most coveted collegiate player at the position available this April, they’re going to have come off of most of their current and perhaps future Day 1 and 2 picks, to move up and ensure they’re positioned ahead of other potential suitors to get him. This is what happens when you try to build an offense around a running back.

Chicago Bears linebacker Roquan Smith could be the exception to an unwritten NFL preseason rule. The team's first-round draft pick could become one of the few key players who actually appear in Chicago's fifth and final preseason game Thursday against Buffalo.NFL teams usually rest starters and key players in the last preseason game as they gear practices toward the regular-season opener. But Smith held out 29 days before signing his contract and has had just six practices. He's missed practice time this week with left hamstring tightness, making it unlikely he will play Saturday against Kansas City.Getting Smith into the final preseason game would serve a purpose."I think his situation is a little bit different because he hasn't had the playing time," coach Matt Nagy said after Thursday's practice. "I think what we'll do is we'll monitor where he's at as far as his health, and if we feel like it's safe to get him reps (Thursday), which he obviously needs, then we'll do that. If we think it's not safe, then we're not going to do it."Smith did not practice Tuesday because of the hamstring Charles Leno Jersey , and then practiced only on a limited basis and not during team scrimmages on Wednesday and Thursday.Nagy stopped just short of saying Smith would not play in Saturday's noon game."I'm not gonna say that, but I would say right now it's, with him not being out here full go the last two days, it's been a little more (than) a little tough," Nagy said. The Bears open the regular season Sept. 9 in a Sunday night game at Green Bay, and the goal is to have Smith ready for that game regardless of whether he plays in the preseason."You have to be so careful with those injuries because all of a sudden you think you're good, and then you put somebody in, and then it compounds it http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-joel-iyiegbuniwe-jersey ," Nagy said. "We want to stay away from the compounded injuries."Smith is not worried about the effect missing so much practice time and preseason games could have on his play."I feel very comfortable in myself and my abilities," Smith said. Houston-Carson has been a special-teams contributor and ranked as the fourth safety. ... TE Adam Shaheen is suffering from both ankle and foot sprains, Nagy said. Initially the Bears called it an ankle sprain. Shaheen is unlikely to play again until the regular-season opener, if not later. ... The Bears could get their first look in game action at WR Taylor Gabriel, who injured his foot during the training camp practices in Bourbonnais. One of the Eagles’ calling cards since Doug Pederson and Jim Schwartz have arrived has been their strong run defense and ferocious pass rush. In each of the last two seasons the Eagles have been to the playoffs, strong defensive line play has been crucial in their success in the regular and post-season. Despite recent success, Eagles are at a crossroads this offseason with how they’re going to build their defensive line going forward. Fletcher Cox is in the prime of his career: coming off his first double-digit sack season, got named to his first All-Pro first team and headed to his fourth straight Pro Bowl honor. Besides Cox, however Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys Stitched , the Eagles have more questions than answers. Brandon Graham is set to be a free agent, Chris Long is mulling retirement, Derek Barnett is recovering from a serious shoulder injury, Timmy Jernigan missed more than half the season with a serious hernia and Michael Bennett is in the twilight of his career despite a great session with the team.In short, the Eagles could use some youth at the defensive tackle position and on the edges of the defense. Lucky enough for them; the 2019 class is loaded with players who can impact all over the defensive line. The Eagles’ draft position will keep them out of range for blue chip players like Nick Bosa, Ed Oliver, Clelin Ferrell, Josh Allen and Quinnen Williams; but there are plenty more names to keep an eye on as potential first round options for the Eagles. Defensive TacklesChristian Wilkins, Clemson: One half of Clemson’s dynamic interior duo, Christian Wilkins is a dynamic run defender who can push the pocket. He would be a tremendous rotational piece who could be the long term replacement for Timmy Jernigan. Dexter Lawrence, Clemson: The read on Dexter Lawrence is all over the place; but everyone can agree the junior prospect has tremendous upside. Lawrence is an impressive athlete at 340 pounds and when he puts it together he could be a special Cheap J.J. Arcega-Whiteside Jersey , every down defender. Jeffery Simmons, Mississippi State: Jeffery Simmons is an elite run defender with good athleticism and a lot of physicality. Teams will love how the 300 pounder fights through the whistle on every down, but lack of sack production might hurt his stock in a pass heavy league.Jerry Tillery, Notre Dame: At 6’6 and 305 pounds, it’s hard not to notice Jerry Tillery on the football field. Tillery is inconsistent due to technique issues, but his upside is evident when he’s playing his best. A wrecking ball who could play all over a defensive line.Dre’Mont Jones, Ohio State: Jones’ case will be interesting due to the fact he’s listed under 280 pounds as a defensive tackle. His speed at the position was to his advantage this year; as he was distributive every week. However teams may be concerned he’s a bit of a tweener.Edge DefenderJachai Polite, Florida: I had Jachai Polite to the Eagles in my most recent mock draft and I stand by that he would be a great fit with the team. His speed off the edge is substantial and his six forced fumbles in 2018 are indicative of his tremendous playmaking ability. If Derek Barnett can return at full strength, they’d make for a dangerous duo going forward.Montez Sweat, Mississippi State: Another fantastic Bulldog prospect; Montez Sweat’s 6’6” frame will have NFL teams intrigued in him. He’s an athletic pass rusher who produced a ton in college, but teams might be concerned with his light playing weight.Rashan Gary Youth J.J. Arcega-Whiteside Jersey , Michigan: Gary is all upside. The Wolverines played the athletic defender all over their line but he never produced like a top prospect. Expect him to test very well and teams to love his potential, as long as he stays at one position.Brian Burns, Florida State: Brian Burns is a fast riser after a phenomenal year in Tallahassee. With 10 sacks this year, Burns showed off he’s an every down playmaker who has great speed and physicality. Jaylon Ferguson, LA Tech: “My guy” during this draft cycle will be one of college football’s most productive players. Ferguson had 45 sacks in for years, including 17.5 last season. Factor in 67.5 career TFLs (26 last year) and Ferguson is a hell of a playmaker. He is a bit undersized at the position, but he’s lightning quick and ready to hurt offenses on any down.

Jermey Parnell Marqise Lee Jerseys 2019 , according to multiple reports. The release of Parnell frees up an additional $6 million..."The Jacksonville Jaguars continued their cap purge on Friday releasing veteran right tackle Jermey Parnell, according to multiple reports. The release of Parnell frees up an additional $6 million in cap space, pushing the Jaguars to near the $30 million point in room. The move to cut Parnell was expected by most, as he was starting to decline and consistently dealing with injuries the past two seasons. The Jaguars originally signed Parnell in free agency prior to the 2015 season and started at right tackle for the team through the 2018 season. For most of his career as a Jaguars player Parnell was an adequate right tackle and in 2017 one of their better offensive lineman. Parnell originally played basketball in college at Ole Miss, however then head coach Houston Nutt talked him into playing football, which led to him playing a few games as a senior at defensive end. Parnell bounced between a few teams in the NFL before settling with the Dallas Cowboys as an offensive lineman. The Kansas City Chiefs bolstered their young, relatively unproven backfield Saturday by signing veteran running back Carlos Hyde to a $2.8 million contract for the 2019 season. The deal includes $1.6 million guaranteed, a person familiar with the terms told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the terms were not disclosed. The 28-year-old Hyde was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday Black Abry Jones Jerseys , and the Chiefs moved swiftly in inviting him for a visit. They were seeking help behind Damien Williams and Darrel Williams, who became their top two running backs when Kareem Hunt was released last season.“We certainly like a bigger back,” Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said during last week’s scouting combine. “I certainly have a thing for 220-pound backs that can run and catch and block.”The 6-foot, 229-pound Hyde certainly fits that mold.He was a second-round pick of the 49ers in 2014, and he came within 50 yards of eclipsing 1,000 twice during his four-year stay in San Francisco. Hyde signed a $15 million, three-year deal with the Browns last season, but he appeared in just six games before a midseason trade to Jacksonville.Hyde wound up making two starts and appearing in eight games for the Jaguars Abry Jones Jerseys 2019 , though he never made much of an impact. He finished with 58 carries for 189 yards and never reached the end zone, and the Jaguars decided Friday to release him when no trade opportunities materialized.Still, he represents a low-risk, high-upside addition to a dynamic Chiefs offense. With league MVP Patrick Mahomes under center, the Chiefs shattered just about every franchise record — and quite a few NFL marks — while reaching the AFC title game last season. And while most of their pressing issues lie on defense, Veach and Chiefs coach Andy Reid said they’d be open to any offseason moves that could potentially put them over the hump.Damien Williams is expected to remain the starter after he assumed Hunt’s job, and he gouged Indianapolis for 129 yards rushing in the playoffs. In fact, Williams was so steady that Kansas City signed him in December to a two-year extension worth up to $8.1 million.“He just needed an opportunity. And when the opportunity presented itself Black Corey Grant Jerseys , he kind of took it and ran with it. That is why we extended him,” Veach said. “He’s always been a talented player. He can run, catch and block. He can really do everything. He was great on special teams. I would say going into the offseason and going into the 2019 season, it’s Damien’s job to lose.”He’ll have a little more competition now, though.

For all you fantasy football players Youth Kyle Long Jerseys , when was the last time the Chicago Bears had a must-start each and every week regardless of the match-up?We might have to go back to the Brandon Marshall..."when was the last time the Chicago Bears had a must-start each and every week regardless of the match-up?We might have to go back to the Brandon Marshall years, or maybe the mid 2000’s Bears’ defense and special teams to find a must-start. Matt Forte was good in PPR leagues, but his lack of touchdowns was an issue. Jordan Howard’s lack of receiving skills seemed to always leave him in that RB2 territory. But the 2018 Bears did have a must-start each and every week, and that was their defensive unit that was taken to another level with the addition of Khalil Mack and the consistent pressure he put on quarterbacks. A little later today, DraftKings is revealing their 2018 Fantasy Football Awards, and Windy City Gridiron has the inside scoop on one of the winners. According to the DraftKings scoring format, the Bears’ defense was the best D during the 2018 season with 187 points. Chicago’s defensive and special teams (DST) was the most drafted defense when DraftKings looked at main sets throughout the regular season. Fans chose the Bears defense 9.4 percent of the time when they set their lineups Kyle Long Jerseys Stitched , which was far ahead of the second place Baltimore Ravens (6.6%), and the third place Houston Texans (5.2%).Chicago’s defense also had the second best performance among all DST with their 28 point outburst against the Buffalo Bills when they racked up 28 fantasy points. They won that game 41-9, and it featured an Eddie Jackson 65 yard fumble return for a touchdown and a Leonard Floyd 19 yard interception return for TD.So how early will you guys be drafting the Bears DST for your fantasy teams in 2019? LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — Mitchell Trubisky is just about ready to return to the Chicago Bears‘ lineup.Trubisky said he is “really close to 100 percent” and expects to play against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night after missing the past two games because of a right shoulder injury. He went through a full practice on Wednesday. Assuming no setbacks, he figures to start when the NFC North leaders host the NFC West champions.“I just gotta show coach that I can play,” he said. “I’m feeling good about where I’m at. As long as I can show them that I can go out there every day and make all the throws and be the player that they know I am, I feel confident that I’ll be able to go.”Nagy said he feels “strong that he will play,” though he wouldn’t quite commit to it.“I got to see more Youth Anthony Miller Jerseys ,” he said. “I feel good about it.”Trubisky was hurt sliding late in a win over Minnesota on Nov. 18. He was hit by the Vikings’ Harrison Smith on the left side, resulting in his throwing shoulder getting driven into the ground.Chase Daniel has started the past two games, a victory at Detroit on Thanksgiving and an overtime loss at the New York Giants.Assuming he is cleared to return, Trubisky will face quite a task. The league-leading Rams (11-1) became the first team to secure a playoff berth when they beat Detroit to clinch their second straight division title. A win over Chicago (8-4) would give them a first-round bye and move them another step closer to home-field advantage in the NFC playoffs, with a one-game lead over New Orleans. While the Bears’ defense will have to contain one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses, Trubisky will have to contend with Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh. Donald leads the NFL with 16 1/2 sacks and at least two in each of the past three games.Even so, getting Trubisky back naturally would be a boost. Daniel had two interceptions, got sacked five times and committed four fumbles against the Giants. And the Bears’ five-game win streak came to an end.“(Trubisky) has led us to this point now Anthony Miller Jerseys Stitched , to be No. 1 in our division,” receiver Allen Robinson said. “It’s really big for us.”The Bears took a slow approach with Trubisky, just as they did with star pass rusher Khalil Mack and Robinson. Both players missed two games because of injuries earlier this season.Trubisky didn’t resume throwing until Friday. He threw again prior to the game against the Giants and felt well enough to play pingpong on Monday, firing off some hard forehands against cornerback Prince Amukamara in an Instagram video posted by receiver Josh Bellamy.“He’s a fighter,” Nagy said. “He doesn’t care how hurt or injured he is. He wants to be there. So, I appreciate that. I like that about him. But we got to protect him and make sure we’re smart.”The No. 2 overall pick in 2017, Trubisky has a 97.7 rating, 20 touchdown passes and nine interceptions in 10 games. It’s a big improvement over his rookie season Youth Mitchell Trubisky Jerseys , when his rating was about 20 points lower and he threw for as many TDs as INTs (seven).Trubisky will be going against another quarterback, Jared Goff, who had difficulties as a rookie and made big strides in Year 2 after the team hired a coach with an offensive background. The No. 1 pick in 2016, Goff made the Pro Bowl last season. The two got to know each other well in the offseason, working out together with the same quarterbacks coach and trainers.Rams coach Sean McVay is impressed by Trubisky.“I think he’s throwing the deep ball extremely accurate, on time,” he said. “You clearly see the athleticism, where if something’s not there he can step up Mitchell Trubisky Jerseys Stitched , he can make (you) pay with his legs. … You can feel that the players believe in him and I think that’s as big as anything else. He’s got a nice play energy that exudes a confidence, and the players feed off of him.“And then the play-making ability, whether it’s (throwing) the ball down the field or creating on his own, it’s certainly something that has to be accounted for.”

QB Case Keenum Travis Benjamin Jerseys Stitched , RB Royce Freeman, RB Phillip Lindsay, WR Courtland Sutton, WR DaeSean Hamilton, RT Jared Veldheer, CB Adam "Pacman" Jones, DE Clinton McDonald, ILB Jose Jewell, OLB Bradley Chubb, ILB Alexander Johnson, CB Tramaine Brock, S Su'a Cravens Youth Corey Liuget Jerseys , CB Isaac Yiadom, P Marquette King.Key losses: CB Aqib Talib, QB Trevor Siemian, QB Brock Osweiler, RB C.J. Anderson, TE Virgil Green, WR Cody Latimer, OL Menelik Watson, S Jamal Carter, P Riley Dixon.Strengths: Nobody in league has Denver's pass rush prowess with No. 5 overall draft pick Bradley Chubb joining Von Miller, Shaq Barrett and Shane Ray. All but Barrett are first-rounders. Few teams have bolstered one position way Broncos beefed up receiving corps with additions of draft picks Sutton and Hamilton and emergence of Tim Patrick (undrafted, Utah 2017) Corey Liuget Jerseys Stitched , another tall, thick receiver.Weaknesses: "No Fly Zone" defense is down two founding members with Talib's trade to Rams and T.J. Ward's release last year. Lost Carter to season-ending hamstring injury in preseason. CB Bradley Roby now full-time starter next to Chris Harris Jr. But secondary banged up all summer, especially with Cravens (knee) out, crimping chemistry. With injuries to DBs, linebackers continued trend of allowing tight ends to make big plays in preseason.Fantasy Players to Watch: WR Emmanuel Sanders has regained speed and enthusiasm after hobbling through 2017 with ankle injury. Sanders credits energy boost on Keenum's arrival. He and Demaryius Thomas also pushed by rookies Sutton and Hamilton. Expect Freeman to get bulk of handoffs in backfield.Vegas Says: Super Bowl 50-1. Over/under wins 7.5.Expectations: Broncos are out to avoid first back-to-back losing seasons since 1971-72 and end two-year playoff drought. GM John Elway gave roster injection of talented, mature rookies as all 10 draft picks plus Lindsay spent four years in college and have been captains. That's departure from previous classes long on athleticism but short on experience. Keenum will need season like last year's in Minnesota and his O-line will have to keep him clean for team to get leads and allow Denver's pass rushers to do their thing. Around the NFL reported the voting results via TwitterThere was little surprise in the results with the Indianapolis Colts’ Frank Reich, Kansas City Chiefs’ Andy Reid, Seattle Seahawks’ Pete Carroll, and New Orleans Saints’ Sean Payton also receiving votes. It was perhaps somewhat interesting that neither of the coaches competing in tomorrow’s Super Bowl, Sean McVay and Bill Belichick, received any votes.Anthony Lynn had an amazing season in his second year as head coach of the Chargers, tying the Chiefs for the best record in the AFC and overseeing both a top-10 offense and top-10 defense. He also appears to have made inroads into changing the losing culture of the franchise with incredible comeback victories on the road against Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs along the way. There is an argument to be made that Lynn deserved the award over Nagy, but coming in second in the voting is still nice to see as a fan of Lynn and the Chargers.
