Jimmy Bartel accepts Geelongs decision to push him into retirement but the 32-year-old believes he had more to give in 2017. Custom Mariners T-shirts .The 2007 Brownlow medallist on Wednesday decided against lengthening his stellar AFL career into a 16th season, retiring after 305 games for the Cats.Theres a fair bit of me that thought I could keep going, Bartel told Melbourne radio station SEN on Thursday.I thought maybe in a reduced capacity ... I could have offered something. But Im not bitter or upset. I completely respect everything the clubs done and the decision theyve gone with. The three-time premiership winner spent the month after Geelongs heavy preliminary final loss to Sydney weighing up whether to play on in 2017.Bartel acknowledged his deteriorating form - a drop-off that suggested he would be no longer able to demand a position in the Cats best side had he played on - but was adamant he could still contribute.Im never going to be the player I was 10 years ago, he said. But I thought the player I was in the last couple of years was something of value. But clubs have got to keep moving forward. He has a desire to remain in footy in a list management role, but would need to head down to Centrelink as a first order of business. Custom Edgar Martinez Jersey . Brandon Morrow allowed five runs on six hits over three innings. He struck out two, walked one and hit a batter. Edwin Encarnacion had a two-out, bases loaded two-RBI double in the third inning. Authentic Custom Mariners Jersey .C. -- Manny Malhotra had two goals and an assist, leading the Carolina Hurricanes to a 6-3 win over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. http://www.custommarinersjersey.com/ Every week, well mine the waiver wire for lesser-owned assets to help your squad, whether you favor dynasty or the redraft format -- and well also toss in some tips for DFS players out there. Categorized by position, the players are ranked in descending order by ownership percentage in ESPN leagues.Well also include some former go-to fantasy assets who may be overvalued -- in the short or long term -- for one reason or another.A journeyman center is reuniting with Alex Ovechkin in Washington, the second line is getting the job done in Boston, and a reason why you should care about an untested goaltender in Philly.ForwardsAntoine Roussel, LW, Dallas Stars Ownership percentage: 26.5Come for Roussels perennially generous PIM collection, stay for his recent uptick in production. Notorious for spending an inordinate number of minutes in the box, Roussel has also lit up the scoreboard of late, riding a six-game point streak with three goals and five assists. No he didnt do this all on his own; hes been skating on a scoring line with top center Tyler Seguin.Ryan Spooner, C/LW, Boston Bruins Ownership percentage: 17.0If unable to exploit David Krejci during his current hot streak, instead consider the centers linemate. The Spooner-Krejci-David Backes trio has been the Bruins best during this latest run of three wins, with all three also seeing minutes on the clubs top power play.Conor Sheary, LW/RW, Pittsburgh Penguins Ownership percentage: 11.7Playing on a scoring line with Sidney Crosby certainly packs its perks. Since returning from an eye injury, Sheary has two goals and three assists (as well as a plus-six rating) through four contests. The 24-year-old sophomore is also seeing a modest increase in ice time.Teuvo Teravainen, LW, Carolina Hurricanes Ownership percentage: 11.3The forward trio of Teravainen, center Jordan Staal, and talented rookie Sebastien Aho (ownership percentage: 4.8) has provided a glint of silvered lining during an otherwise dim run in Carolina, combining for five goals and eight assists in just two games. Just make sure Staal is in the lineup after suffering a (minor?) hand injury on Saturday.Jay Beagle, C, Washington Capitals Ownership percentage: 0.6The latest shuffle in Washington sees Beagle ascend to the centermans position alongside Alex Ovechkin (and Andre Burakovsky). The long-time Capital has sparkled -- relatively and briefly, mind you -- with Ovechkin in the past, and deserves consideration as a short-term plug on your own season-long roster, or as a cheap asset in DFS.Anthony Mantha, RW, Detroit Red Wings Ownership percentage: 2.1The 22-year-old was impressive enough in his season debut for the Red Wings on Saturday, logging nearly 19 minutes, including more than five with the extra skater. With eight goals and two assists in 10 AHL games in 2016-17, the former first-round draft selection (2013) is slated to compete on a line with Gustav Nyquist and Darren Helm, and the secondary power-play unit, versus the Lightning Tuesday. Mantha was a goal-scoring terror in the QMJHL, and merits additional attention in dynasty and keeper leagues.DefensemenJason Demers, Florida Panthers Ownership percentage: 10.8Since the former Shark and Star has a history of producing in bunches, were taking greater notice of his recent run of six points -- including three power-play assists -- in seven games. Furthermore, Demers logged well over 24 minutes against the Islanders on Saturday, so he can boost that category as well.Michael Del Zotto, Philadelphia Flyers Ownership percentage: 10.1Back in tthe fray after missing the start to 2016-17 with a bad knee, Del Zotto has quietly collected three points, 20 hits, and seven blocked shots in only four games. Custom Mariners Jersey China. . Paired with Shayne Gostisbehere at even strength, Del Zotto might also soon be rewarded with additional minutes with the man advantage as well.Derek Forbort, Los Angeles Kings Ownership percentage: 2.1Warranting attention in fantasy leagues that prize non-scoring categories, Forbort is making his presence felt in Los Angeles. Paired with top blueliner Drew Doughty, the 24-year-old rookie leads the Kings in blocked shots (34), and ranks second in PIM. He also has 34 hits to his credit. Theres reason the club drafted this imposing young blueliner 15th overall in 2010.GoaltendersJonathan Bernier, Anaheim Ducks Ownership percentage: 4.9Playing behind John Gibson, Bernier has put up better numbers as the Ducks backup, particularly of late. While were not predicting the latter will usurp the former on Anaheims depth chart anytime soon, coach Randy Carlyle wont be miserly with offering Bernier ample opportunities should this trend continue.Keith Kinkaid, New Jersey Devils Ownership percentage: 2.0As with the Gibson/Bernier duo, Cory Schneider is in little danger of losing his standing as the Devils preferred starter for the long term. However, Kinkaid has been excellent in limited action this month, including a 2-0 record, .967 save percentage and 1.00 goals-against average. The 27-year-old is worth keeping in mind as an inexpensive daily fantasy asset with great potential upside when pegged to start.Anthony Stolarz, Philadelphia Flyers Ownership percentage: 0.8The lower-body injury to Michal Neuvirth -- whos projected to miss weeks -- combined with this seasons inferior play from Steve Mason, means we could see Stolarz make his NHL debut sooner rather than later. The 22-year-old has been better than good with the AHL Phantoms, boasting a .927 save percentage and 2.39 goals-against average. Many pundits believe this former OHL star with the London Knights could be the real deal.Lowered expectationsMatt Duchene, C/RW, Colorado Avalanche Ownership percentage: 90.6Concussion-like symptoms are always concerning, and theres little point in trying to predict when a player will return from a head injury. Hopefully Duchene isnt out for long. In the meanwhile, Mikhail Grigorenko is benefiting from an increase in quality ice time on a line with Gabriel Landeskog and Nathan MacKinnon.Michael Cammalleri, LW, New Jersey Devils Ownership percentage: 41.1Cammalleri is projected to miss his third straight game for personal reasons on Tuesday. If possible, shelve the experienced sniper until we get a better understanding of whats going on.Dennis Seidenberg, D, New York Islanders Ownership percentage: 27.6The veteran blueliner could be out for weeks after suffering a broken jaw this weekend. On the upside for the Islanders, defenseman Travis Hamonic is back in the lineup after missing three games with a suspected thumb injury. Hamonic was originally tapped to sit out about a month.Nino Niederreiter, LW/RW, Minnesota Wild Ownership percentage: 15.2The pending return of Zach Parise (foot) means Niederreiter might not be long for his role on a line with center Eric Staal and Charlie Coyle. However, its worth noting that Parise is initially expected to compete on an even-strength unit with Erik Haula and Jason Pominville. Stay tuned. ' ' '

Tottenham eased to a 3-0 victory over Hull on Wednesday night as two goals from Christian Eriksen and one from Victor Wanyama saw them keep up the heat on the top four in the English Premier League. Spurs had other chances throughout the game with Marshall saving well low to his right to keep out Dele Allis clever dragged effort.Jan Vertonghen almost scored a contender for goal of the season as he jinked and danced his way over challenge after challenge before seeing a shot blocked. It would be wrong for the NRL to block Kieran Forans return to rugby league and prevent the Warriors recruit from getting his life back on track, says his new teammate Shaun Johnson.Foran has committed to the Warriors on a one-year deal for the 2017 season, after leaving Parramatta in July due to personal issues. But the premiership winner and injured Kiwis half is no guarantee of returning to the NRL next year. His contract has to be ratified by the games powerbrokers, who are concerned about his off-field issues in particular his friendship with controversial gambling identity Eddie Hayson.Foran posted pictures of himself training in the Warriors gym this week as he continues his recovery from shoulder surgery.Johnson, who is a close mate of Forans, said the Manly title winner deserves the chance to turn his life around. If they (the NRL) are genuine about helping someone get their life back on track I dont see how they can really stop him playing footy in New Zealand, Johnson told AAP.To get him out of the hustle and bustle of Sydney and get him away from the people he surrounded himself with and he is keen to do that.I guess they are goiing to talk to him. LEXINGTON, Ky. Custom Chicago Bulls Jerseys . -- Other than the start, Kentucky coach John Calipari had few complaints about the top-ranked Wildcats latest domination featuring more examples of Malik Monks skills.Monk scored a career-high 26 points, DeAaron Fox added 16 and Kentucky routed UT-Martin 111-76 on Friday night, the most points scored in the Calipari Era.The taller Wildcats overcame a slow shooting start and 16-15 deficit to the athletic Skyhawks before rolling to a season-high victory margin. Kentucky (6-0) shot a season-best 55 percent from the field by controlling the paint 54-28 and the boards 48-26, along with recording 24 assists. They got our best today, Calipari said. And the way we moved the ball -- I kind of like coaching against zone and I want my team to feel like if they play zone, thats a good thing. Lets go do this.Monks 10-of-17 shooting led the way with Fox making 7 of 12 from the field. Monk has scored at least 23 points in three of his past four games and this effort featured 10 over a 1:51 stretch in the second half highlighted by back-to-back dunks. He also jumped high to swat a lob pass out of bounds. The Wildcats freshman guard wasnt available afterward, but teammates lobbed plenty of praise at Monk.I would say hes fired up, said senior guard Dominique Hawkins, who had a career-best nine assists along with six points. Hes the most exciting athlete Ive played with on a team. I dont know how he blocked that lob. He just jumped up there, cuffed it and threw it.Monk wasnt the only Wildcat to stand out.Wenyen Gabriel and Bam Adebayo, who had 12 rebounds, each had a career-high 15 points for Kentucky, which won the game that was part of a matchup of unbeaten teams in the four-game Bluegrass Showcase.Matthew Butler scored 15 points and Jacolby Mobley had 14 for UT Martin (5-2), which shot just 33 percent in the second half and 41 percent overall in having its five-game winning streak stopped.THE BIG PICTUREUT Martin: Despite giving away several inches inside against Kentucky, the Skyhawks quickness helped their zone work early on. But they soon began sending Kentucky to the free throw line in the first half and were eventually worn down by Kentuckys height and quickness. Their length can be very problematic. It was problematic for us, first-year coach Anthony Stewart said. We thought possibly wed have a chance with our maturity and our older guys against some younger guys. It just didnt work out that way tonight.Kentucky: The Wildcats led by as many as 48 points in the second half en route to their sixth win by at least 21 points, which hasnt been done since the 1947-48 Fabulous Five won their first six games by at least 24. Calipari joked that this team might be the Fabulous Nine but noted that the fast starts depend on the competition. HOUSTON -- Despite the Red Sox having the tying run on third base in the seventh inning, Astros rookie left-hander Brett Oberholtzer wanted to stay in Mondays game. Swell Water Bottle Clearance . Oberholtzer said he told Houston manager Bo Porter that they were going to try and get through the inning. Oberholtzer delivered. He struck out Brandon Snyder to end the inning, leaving Jonny Gomes, who had doubled to lead off the inning, stranded at third. Oberholtzer threw seven shutout innings, and L.J. Hoes scored twice to lead the Astros to a 2-0 win over the Red Sox. Oberholtzer (2-0) allowed four hits while walking two and striking out two. In his first two career starts, Oberholtzer has thrown 14 scoreless innings, allowing seven hits. He became the first Astros pitcher to throw at least 14 scoreless innings over his first two major league starts. He is also the first major league pitcher with at least seven scoreless innings in his first two starts since Philadelphias Marty Bystrom did it in 1980. Oberholtzer said he told himself before the game to pound the strike zone and stay confident. "For me, my mindset is to attack and throw strikes," Oberholtzer said. "Obviously, I am always confident. I told myself today that they were either going to get me early or not at all, so I just came out, attacked the zone, mixed it up." Porter said Oberholtzer was tremendous. "Even the start against Baltimore against that lineup he did a great job of mixing his pitches, getting early contact," Porter said. "Today, against a really good hitting lineup I felt like he did a tremendous job of pitching to the inner third of the plate and really attacking from the standpoint where he didnt put himself into too many deep counts where he was forced to throw a fastball." Hoes and Jonathan Villar each had two hits for the Astros, who snapped a four-game losing streak. Houston took a 1-0 lead in the fifth. Hoes led off with a single and stole second and scored on a single by Robbie Grossman. The Astros added a run in the seventh to make it 2-0. Hoes led off the inning with a double and scored on a suicide squeeze bunt by Brandon Barnes off Junichi Tazawa. The Red Sox, who lost for the second time in their past seven games, put runners on the corners with two outs in the eighth after a David Ortiz bloop single off Wesley Wright advanced Jacoby Ellsbury to third, but Josh Fields struck out Mike Napoli to end the inning. Fields struck out the side in the ninth for his first career save. "I felt pretty good," Fields said. "I was trying to be as aggressive as I could. I knew I had one run for a cushion, so I was coming right after those guys as hard as I could hoping theyd get themselves out." Oberholtzer did not allow a hit until Dustin Pedroias single in the fourth. He was caught stealing to end the inning. Stephen Drew laced a two-out double to right in the fifth but was left stranded. Boston threatened in the sixth with a two-out single by Pedroia and a walk to Ortiz, but Oberholtzer got a groundout by Napoli to second to end the inning. Boston starter John Lackey appeared to have rolled his left ankle to end the second inning, coming off the mound for a soft chopper hit by Matt Dominguez. Lackey threw to first for the third out and hobbled off the field with a trainer and coach, but came back out for the third inning. "I am sure you guys saw it; I rolled my ankle pretty good," Lackey said. "Ive done it several times playing other sports, but it definitely didnt feel great. I wasnt going anywhere. I just taped it. I pitched fine. "I dont think it affected the way I threw the ball or anything. They were definitely keeping an eye on me to make sure it did not affect my delivery. Nothing happened with my arm." Lackey (7-9), who said his ankle will not affect his next start despite limping noticeably after the game, allowed two runs and eight hits with two walks and 10 strikeouts in six innings. Lackey has lost three straight decisions. "I thought John had really good stuff tonight," Boston manager John Farrell said. "He had good secondary stuff and got a lot of key strikeouts when he needed them. Oberholtzer threw the ball over the plate. WEST POINT, N. Cheap Jordans From China .Y. -- After five straight losing seasons, coach Jeff Monken and Army bid farewell to Michie Stadium Saturday hoping for a big finish.Back over .500? Check. Still alive for a bowl? Check.Beat Navy for the first time since 2001?Well see in three weeks. Before all that, the Black Knights had to take care of Morgan State -- and they had little trouble doing so. Andy Davidson ran for two touchdowns on 111 yards, Cole Macek added two more scores and 108 yards and Army crushed the Bears 60-3. Darnell Woolfolk added a score on 104 yards to keep the Black Knights (6-5) in the hunt for their first bowl game since 2010, thanks to their largest margin of victory since 1958.But first comes Navy.I dont know a bigger football game, said Monken. Thats a goal of ours as a program, to play in the postseason. Itd be great to have that opportunity, but we have no control over getting in right now. We have one game in the world right now and thats the Army-Navy game.Armys triple option, which stalled badly in a 44-6 loss to Notre Dame a week ago, returned to form against an FCS defense that came in allowing 32 points per game. The Black Knights scored on their first two drives and led 29-3 by halftime. The nations No. 2 rushing offense wound up with 504 yards, 561 total yards, as Army clinched its second six-win season since 1996.Chris Andrews (8 for 20) threw for 79 yards for the Bears (2-8, 2-5 MEAC), who converted just three of 16 third downs. Morgan State, which hasnt won a road game since October 2015, failed to score a touchdown for the second time this year and was held to 124 yards of offense.Armys defense clamped down on Morgan States opening drive, forcing a three-and-out, and the Black Knights scored on their ensuing possession, capped by Davidsons 23-yard score. After forcing another punt, the Black Knights got into the red zone on Woolfolks 42-yard rush to the 5. Ahmad Bradshaw ran in on a keeper one play later and the Black Knights led 13-0.Stymied on the ground, the overmatched Bears caught a break in the second quarter when they recovered an Army fumble on one of their five first-half punts. That set up a drive from the Army 19, but Morgan State had to settle for a field goal for its only score.Armys 249 yards of offense in the first half bested its entire effort in the loss to Notre Dame. A big chunk of that came on Jordan Asberrys first carry. The sophomore took a pitch from Bradshaw at midfield, got to the right sideline and then picked up a block to score with 2:45 left in the half. The Black Knights got another touchdown two minutes later when Bradshaw found streaking Edgar Poe for a 31-yard score.Army, the nations 10th-best defense, racked up six sacks and senior Jeremy Timpf had 10 tackles in his 35th straight start.Theres been a lot of work put into this program the last few years, Timpf said. A lot of sweat and blood has been poured on the field.THE TAKEAWAYMorgan State: The freefall under first-year interim head coach Fred Farrier continued for the Bears, losers of six straight. The result wasnt nearly as close as the programs first meeting, a 28-12 Army victory in 2013.Army: Coming off lopsided losses to Air Force and Notre Dame, the matchup with Morgan State on senior day was a must-win as Army tries to qualify for a bowl. Army is holding its breath since its victory against another FCS foe, Lafayette, doesnt count toward that goal.TRIBUTE TO 28In addition to a new tattoo, Morgan State freshman Rico Kennedy wore No. 28 to honor his best friend, Armys Brandon Jackson, who died in car crash earlier this season. I miss him, I love him, and Im always going to play for him, Kennedy said.UP NEXT:Morgan State: The Bears are at Savannah State on Saturday in a game postponed by Hurricane Matthew back on Oct. 8.Army: The Black Knights are off until Dec. 10s trip to Baltimore to face Navy. Army hasnt won the rivalry game since 2001. After the game, Poe was ready to focus on the Midshipmen. Were tired of hearing, `Is this the year? Thats the most annoying thing I get asked every day. Scotland 266 for 7 (MacLeod 102, Wallace 52) beat Hong Kong 213 (Hayat 52, Sole 4-28) by 53 runsScorecard and ball-by-ball details Calum MacLeod struck his second hundred in three ODIs to lead Scotland to a 53-run win over Hong Kong in Edinburgh and take the series 1-0.MacLeod made 102 off 107 balls and spearheaded a 116-run sixth-wicket partnership - a Scotland record - to help his side recover from a poor spell in the middle overs and post 266 for 7.The hosts were eyeing a lot more after they won the toss and captain Kyle Coetzer produced a stroke-filled 48 from 42 balls. However, he was the second man out with the score on 63 and then watched his side slip to 144 for 5 in the 33rd over.Disappointment kept piling up for Coetzer - had he scored one more run he would have become Scotlands highest run-getter in ODIs beating Gavin Hamiltons 1231 - until Craig Wallace, playing only his seventh ODI, chipped in with a run-a-ball 52 and gave the set batsman MacLeod the support he had been desperate for.MacLeods first fifty came off 67 balls, but the next one came off only 38. With him in charge, Scotland added 116 runs in their final 15 overs.Hong Kong made a steady start to their chase. They took two really good catches and saved a lot of singles and twos and we didnt do that. That was the big difference for me.We need to work on our fielding, in every game we gave away 20-30 runs and today it put us under a lot of pressure so that is something we have to work on.Overall weve played really well on this tour [of the UK] - we brought a lot of young guys and are missing key players. So its a learning process for us and we will be a lot better for the experience. ' ' '
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Kirk Ferentz has a new contract that will likely keep him with Iowa through the rest of his career. Josh Rosen Youth Jersey .Iowa announced Tuesday that it has signed Ferentz to a six-year contract extension through the 2025 season.Ferentz, who is in his 18th season leading the Hawkeyes, will see his salary jump to $4.5 million per year under the new deal, with performance bonuses yet to be detailed.Ferentz said he doesnt consider early 2026, which is when his contract ends, to be the end date on his tenure in Iowa City.Im not big on caps of any sort. Well just take it week by week and year by year, said Ferentz. Ive never felt better, physically and mentally.Ferentzs last contract, which was for 10 years at roughly $40 million, was set to expire in early 2020. Ferentzs massive buyout was subject to scrutiny under his previous deal, but a series of changes made by Ferentz -- earning him the nickname New Kirk -- led to a 12-2 season and a trip to the Rose Bowl.Athletic director Gary Barta said that the buyout in Ferentzs new deal is similar to the previous one, though he didnt offer further specifics. My desire is for Kirk to retire at Iowa, Barta said.Ferentz and Oklahoma Bob Stoops are the nations longest-tenured coaches, having been hired within days of each other in 1999. What is remarkable about Iowas decision to retain Ferentz until the middle of the next decade is that, just 18 months ago, many Hawkeyes fans wanted to see him fired.Iowa stumbled through a 7-6 season in 2014, capped by an embarrassing loss to Tennessee in a bowl game. Ferentz was never at risk of losing his job -- partly because of a buyout that wouldve cost the Hawkeyes well over $10 million -- but he promised to take a fresh look at how he ran his program anyway.Ferentz unexpectedly promoted quarterback C.J. Beathard ahead of successful incumbent Jake Rudock ahead of spring practice in 2015. Rudock left for Michigan, but Beathard blossomed into a star in leading the Hawkeyes to a school-record 12-0 start. The Hawkeyes embraced trick plays and alternate uniforms last season, things the once-conservative Ferentz shied away from in the past.Ferentz has also gone away from his propensity to redshirt as many freshmen as possible, playing six of them in last weeks 45-21 win over Miami (Ohio) to open the season. What stands out about coach Ferentz is his ability to bounce back, said cornerback Desmond King, whose relationship with Ferentz play a role in his decision to return for his senior season. Hes very resilient.Ferentz and his staff have ramped up recruiting efforts as well. The Hawkeyes, bolstered by a new football-only facility that rivals any in the country, currently have a top-20 class lined up for signing day in February.Any time you demonstrate stability ... thats a good thing, Ferentz said.Ferentz will surpass Hayden Fry, who he worked with for years as an assistant, as the longest-tenured coach in Iowa history if he stays through the end of his new deal. You tweet in an unfiltered way. Not many athletes do that. I dont really see the point of filtering things too much. There are times when your opinion is not popular and you have to tone down a little bit. But I think the more you are yourself, the easier it is to get on with daily life.Who is the second-best cricketer at Twitter, who you follow? A lot of people tweet me saying Virender Sehwag is quite good, but a lot of his stuff I cant understand because its not in English. A lot of Indians tell me I am the second funniest behind him.Which cricketer would you would pay to watch? I will pay to watch AB de Villiers. You dont really pay to watch a lot of international cricketers if you are an international cricketer because it is a little hard to go in the stands and watch with the members of the public. It can get a little inconvenient, for obvious reasons. One match you did watch from the stands, with de Villiers playing, was the 2015 World Cup semi-final. It was a crazy experience. I actually wasnt going to go to the game. And then one of my friends who I knew through media work had a pass in a private area, so I could watch the match from a private room and not have to deal with the kerfuffle that goes on with that sort of situation. But it was a really special evening for New Zealand cricket.Holy f****** shitballs this is the best day of my life. - you wrote, sitting in the third tier immediately after Grant Elliott hit the winning shot in that semi-final. As I said I got a little bit excited, clearly. What quiz question do you most fancy being in? A few friends of mine do public quizzes and they say this one: Who was at the other end when Brendon McCullum scored his triple-hundred? Seems to be a reasonably popular one.You hit a hundred in that Test. On the morning when McCullum walked out to bat in the 290s, he said he was feeling really nervous. But once he got to the pitch, you looked around and said, Gee, I didnt think so many people would turn up to see me score a hundred. McCullum said he started to laugh and felt a lot more clear-headed when play began. Do you remember that? It was in the morning, during the warm-ups. Brendon was pretty fatigued and was sort of struggling to get up for the occasion. It is always nice to try and break the ice in a situation like that. Now that McCullum has retired, can you tell us anything about him that was really annoying? Hed never let you pay for anything. He always managed to find a way to sneak off in the middle of a meal and slip some notes to a waiter. Youd go to pay at the end of the meal and the waiter would say its all been taken care of. A few of the lads have only just found out what a beer costs since hes retired! What about his superstition about not changing bat grips? Yes, he did not like to change his grip in the middle of an innings. During the 300, when he batted for two and a half days, every time he ripped his grip he would wrap strapping tape around it. A little bit of repair on the fly. And by the time he got to 290 on the fifth morning, his bat had probably more strapping tape than grip, so it was more difficult for him to get bat on ball.If you had to conceal something inside your bat what would you carry in it? Ah jeez! Something that will make the ball go a bit further would be quite useful, but that is obviously illegal. Maybe some sort of speaker so I can listen to some music while I am in the middle batting. Can you learn anything about a cricketer from the beard he sports? You can learn a lot. If a person has a very tidy, trimmed well-maintained beard, he probably is more conscious of how he comes across to other people. If you have guys like Kane [Williamson] who just lets it run wild, he doesnt really care what everyone else thinks of his beard. I thinnk it can show a little bit of a window to a persons conscience. Customized Arizona Cardinals Jersey. Is there anything that Williamson cant do with the bat in hand? He is always trying to explore new shots in training. If he does see a shot that he cant play, it will only take him a couple of weeks to sort. Why are guys like McCullum and Williamson good at what they do? Brendon was much more explosive. He could come out and dominate anyone on his day. His attitude was: get em before they get me. Try and take bowlers down. Kane plays more of a waiting game, wears the opposition bowlers down, and his record is second to none in all formats of the game. The main thing I have learned from playing under both of them is that there is more than one way to skin a cat. Use your own method and success will come once you are true to yourself. Are you patient as a player? I dont think I am, really. That is one of the things that I probably struggle with a little bit in Test cricket - trying to find a natural tempo to play at. My natural game is being more aggressive. In the last few months I have watched guys like David Warner, Virat Kohli, and Kane to a certain extent, who go out and still play quite aggressively in Test cricket. And now I realise you can play aggressively in the longer format of the game. What is your favourite stroke? There is nothing better than a hook shot. When a fast bowler comes in and tries to dig it in short and a batsman just stands tall and hooks it away. Something like what Kevin Pietersen used to play is the best shot to watch. You are being talked about as a Test allrounder. How good do you think you are? You have to think you are one of the best going around to succeed in the international game. I have been hindered by a back injury in the last couple of years. But having come back and played county cricket [for Derbyshire], I still believe if I am putting my best foot forward in both departments, then I am one of the handful of the best allrounders in the world. And hopefully over the next six months or so I can begin to prove that on the field with results, because you can think of yourself as much as you want, but that doesnt really count unless you can put the numbers on the board. What is one cliché you want commentators to cut out? The one that most annoys me is when commentators talk about pulling off the front foot. Any pull shot is off the front foot by definition. So when the batsman pulls off the front foot and the commentator says he is taking the bowler on, I find that really strange. How exactly do you plan to tackle R Ashwin on Indian pitches? He is a high-quality bowler, a top-ten bowler at the moment, and in his own conditions he will be a big challenge. But we have got some pretty good players of spin in our top order. We have been talking of ways to combat him. But I certainly wont be giving away my plans here. You have already wondered why airports dont have hairdressers. What about hotel rooms? It would be quite nice if hotels had Netflix in the rooms. What if you could introduce a new Law in the game? I would quite like to see what would happen if there were no rules on ball-tampering. If you could just do whatever you wanted to the ball. That would probably make Test cricket more interesting. It could make more tedious sessions more exciting with the ball reversing more. What about cricket at the Olympics? I think the ICC should be doing everything within their power to get cricket into the Olympics. One of our main aims as a sport should be expanding playing numbers throughout the world, and the Olympic Games is a perfect way to achieve this. What has cricket taught you so far? Cricket has taught me that you cant get too down during the bad times. Everyone through their career has their highs and their lows, struggle mentally and physically. If you can continue to take one day at a time and not get too disillusioned by your failures then you will probably have a lot more fun, a lot more play, a lot more success than failures. ' ' '

If you can continue to take one day at a time and not get too disillusioned by your failures then you will probably have a lot more fun, a lot more play, a lot more success than failures. ' ' '

The move was made before the team completed a string of four consecutive games against the Angels. Kemp was injured while running down a double in right-centre by Mike Trout in the Dodgers 4-3 loss Wednesday night. It was the fourth time in Kemps career that the two-time Gold Glove winner has been on the DL, including two stints last season because of a left hamstring strain that cost him a combined 51 games. The Dodgers were 24-27 in his absences. "Its not bad luck. Its life," Kemp said. "I never want to be away from the game, but I have to at the moment. It comes with the territory, but its disappointing." Kemp, who just two seasons ago finished runner-up to Milwaukees Ryan Braun in the NL MVP voting after hitting a career-high 39 home runs with 126 RBIs and a .324 average, is batting .251 this season with two homers and 17 RBIs in 51 games, and has struck out 60 times in 191 at-bats following off-season shoulder surgery. In his last six games, he is 1 for 17 with 10 strikeouts. The Dodgers recalled catcher Tim Federowicz from Triple-A Albuquerque to take Kemps place on the roster. Right fielder Andre Ethier was moved to centre field in manager Don Mattinglys starting lineup, the 49th he has used in 53 games. Authentic Custom Giants Jersey. "The whole year weve been figuring a way to patch up things when we get guys hurt," Ethier said. "Donnie asked me, and I said: Sure, lets do it. Id be lying if I said it didnt cross my mind last night because I wasnt sure what the (extent) of Matts injury was, and whether it was going to take a couple of days or longer. But its a different story when you actually see your name in there". It was only the second time in his eight-year career that he started in centre. The other time was May 15, 2012, when he had four putouts in a 5-1 loss to Arizona at Dodger Stadium. Ethiers first big league game as a centre fielder was in the 2010 All-Star game, which took place at Angel Stadium. "Its kind of ironic that its here," Ethier said. "That time it was an All-Star game, so there had to be a centre fielder on that team. I dont know how I ended up playing there -- but at the same time, it was fun. I knew I had centre field in me all the time, and it took an All-Star game for me to finally get it." Also, right-hander Stephen Fife was activated from the 15-day DL and optioned back to Albuquerque. ' ' '
Focus on. Custom Baseball Jerseys China ... The title raceIt seems like when one Mercedes driver is up at the moment, the other is down. In Baku, the title fight swung back in the direction of Nico Rosberg after disappointing races in Monaco and Canada. The championship leader has a 24-point cushion over Lewis Hamilton and now heads to a grand prix he has been dominant at since it returned to the calendar in 2014, with back-to-back wins and 105 laps led. Having gone to Rosberg and then Hamilton, the momentum now appears to be back in the formers camp at a crucial moment, with four races in just five weeks. It might be wrong to be talking about the title race as a two-man fight but these next few races feel important in determining whether Ferrari can be a genuine player in the championship after the summer break. If a win does not materialise before then, and with focus soon shifting towards 2017s projects, it is hard to see anything other than the Silver Arrows drivers fighting for the title. Sebastian Vettel has kept himself just in range of the Mercedes pair with consistent podiums but his chances of a genuine challenge are fading -- although he and Kimi Raikkonen will remain interesting players in the title fight regardless. In previous years, it was likely the Mercedes drivers would only take seven points off each other but with Ferrari -- and potentially Red Bull -- closer than ever there are big points up for grabs, as both Rosberg and Hamilton have found in previous weekends.?Mercedes advantage in Baku was an anomaly at a unique circuit. The power-hungry Austria circuit is a perfect chance to see what the pecking order really looks like as we near the half-way point of 2016.?In need of a winFerrari talked a big game coming into 2016 but we still havent seen the Italian team win. Sebastian Vettel has kept himself in the hunt but a failure to win again this weekend will only see the points gap continue to widen -- a win in a place like Austria would prove Ferraris package has the ability to fight Mercedes right though to November.?In need of pointsJolyon Palmer still has a zero next to his name in the standings. Renaults drivers have struggled of late, which has not been helped by the teams slow resurgence from the Lotus days, but there are starting to be questions asked about rookie Palmer and his teammate Kevin Magnussen.ESPN predictionRosberg has had Hamiltons number in Austria since its return to the calendar, with wins in 2014 and 2015. This weekends race follows his timely return to the top step in Baku and, at a circuit still defined by power, ESPN is backing Rosberg to lead a Mercedes one-two in Spielberg this weekend and extend his championship lead.BettingThe bookies have ignored the current and historical form guide, backing Hamilton to win at 6/5, with odds of 13/8 for Rosberg to claim his third straight win in Austria. Vettel could be in the mix at 6/1. Sergio Perezs recent form sees him on odds of 5/1 to return to the podium, while Renaults Jolyon Palmer is being backed to be the first retirement at 11/1.WeatherWe could be in for another chaotic weekend. Showers and thunderstorms threaten throughout the weekend, though F1 weather service Ubimet says sun and clouds should prevail come the grand prix on Sunday afternoon. The rain looks more likely to affect Saturdays qualifying session and a disrupted set of practice sessions could limit the amount of data the teams take into the race itself.A lap with... Romain GrosjeanIts a funny place to race being in the middle of the mountains. The circuit is very short. The lap time is almost like Monaco. There are some overtaking opportunities. The track, in general, has two very different parts. I quite like the middle sector. There are medium- to high-speed corners. Youve got turn one and turn two, which are very similar. Both are 90-degree turns with big braking and long, straight lines. Youve then got the second part which is more flowing. You start with big braking into turn one, a 90-degree corner. Its very important to go early on the power. Theres then a long straight line going up to turn two where you brake very late into the corner, and theres a change of camber. You go flat again after that to turn three. Again, tricky braking there as youre going downhill. Then youve got a double-left corner, medium- to high-speed turns. The last couple of turns are the same as you go up the hill and then down again. It can be pretty tricky, but if you get the grip under the car and a good balance, it can be a lot of fun to drive. It was a shame about the race in Baku that we had to have the extra pit stop. I think we could have scored points. We were looking pretty good up until that point. Some of the races were now going to should be better for us. We still need to work on getting the best out of the tires when its cold. We have some graining issues as well, but were still a brand new team and we havent had many options to try different things. Were going in a good direction even though we havent scored points in a while.TyresTyres: Soft, super-soft and ultra-softCircuit facts, courtesy of Pirelli:? The first two sectors are fast with the final sector being slower and more technical.? The circuit tests a wide spectrum of a tyres ability, in terms of lateral and longitudinal loading.? Wear, degradation and temperatures are quite low, which is why we have the softest tyres.? Judging the braking points is quite complex, as there are a number of uphill braking areas.? The track surface is generally low-grip and low abrasion, as well as being bumpy in places.? Spielberg is the shortest lap time of the year with only nine corners, so precision is vital.
